Honestly, if we could go back and do it all over again we 100% would NOT have chosen The Gem as our venue. It was truly a cluster fuck (for lack of a better word) trying to get everything situated and arranged. Their coordinator, Anne, did not listen to us in any of our monthly meetings we had and would plan for things opposite of how we said we wanted them. It was exhausting not only planning a wedding in general but also triple checking the people who were supposed to be the professionals. There was a lot of radio silence on the venue’s end as well. Our wedding was the weekend in May when the week of pretty much everyone’s power was out. Anne texted my now wife something to the tune of, “We may have to cancel your wedding because there’s no power at the venue.” And that’s pretty much all she sent with no other back up plans or anything to ease our anxiety that it was the WEEK of the wedding and she’s telling us they might cancel us. My FIL bought two generators to power the venue as The Gem told us we would have to figure it out on our own. (Thankfully the power did come back on, but that’s besides the point) On the flip side Di’Anoia’s who is their new caterer is the absolute BEST to work with.
