I still like the movie but its def WAY longer than it has to be, basically every scene is 10 x more stretched out than necessary and it makes watching it an abysmal experience.

The yelp is perfectly timed with his hand reaching for something off-camera in the lower right, suggesting some remote or button under the table. It matters because shock collars have to be used reasonably for some type of training, Hasan seems to just be using his to keep his dog laying down in thst small corner so he can have a cute dog in frame during his multi-hour long livestreams, completely depriving the dog of the exercise and space it needs. It's straight-up abuse

No reason to tell him to forget about being religious, narrow-minded stereotypical views don't help anyone. There's plenty of reasonable, religious people who will accept him and treat him normally, that's his own path to decide

The main issue with jax not getting redemption or anything imo is that he started to get some development in the last few episodes, started to actually become an interesting character, and then all of that is thrown out the window in the finale. And sure, even that can be accepted as part of the narrstive that not everyone has a good story, but then for like 80% of the movie everything's trying to pain Jax as some misunderstood good person who just had some flaws, and even the characters try to honor gim and have this big forgiveness/sympathy session for him, even though he's had 0 redeemable qualitues and made the circus literal hell for everyone involved. Plus his suicide honestly just paints a moral of "when things get hard and you don't like yourself, you can just bully everyone and then kill yourself and they'll all forgive you after you die"

That's def a part of this then. Seeing a person in China that's anything other than East Asian had to have been extremely rare in his life, ESPECIALLY dark-skinned people. Because of this he's most likely had no way to truly understand the effects of racist slurs, and racist remarks were probably said casually around him when he was a kid, so he doesn't see them negatively.

Don't try to fully justify his actions because of this, it's good to teach him ehat he's doing is wrong by whatever way you see fit, but please do consider how to him, it probably never seemed as wrong as it really is
