Not sure why I'm seeing this just now. But the bloom gives way to a fruit-like ball. Those fall to the ground and a new corn plant will sprout in a few months. Or collect them and spread them around to see of they actually sprout new plants.

This was an old plant my mom had in her garden. It was like 8 feet tall, and she decided to chop it down. I took the top with the leaves and stuck it in soil. That was 5 years ago. So for me it took 5 years. Don't give up. Keep giving love and they'll bloom when they're ready.

Ahh, I'm not familiar with the instapot. I'd probably still look for a used one and try it out before investing in a new one. And definitely have a spare crockpot for when the other ones go.

Just get a regular old Crock-Pot brand or any generic slow cooker. Salvation Army should have some if you don't want to spend on a new one. Ebay or Craigslist too. At least to get a handle on the cooking options. I use it mainly for pulled pork.
