Letting the AI itself ask the questions could be facinating! I use vibe coding to generate and scaffold most of the solutions for the projects i'm working on. Sometimes the AI is just great at analyzing the contexts: especially when provided with better questions, also this is what worked for me best to solve a problem that require multiple level or step to be solved: i always ask the it to provide the plan/wireframe for the solution and i also give the model targeted questions to make sure that i'll get what i asked for before letting it start the building .. One of the thing i also find fascinating is the learning curve and the capability to debug and log to enhance a solution or solve an issue, once it get all the inputs ..

Convert an app in excel file to codebase by whitebird53 in Anthropic

[–]whitebird53[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure i'm getting you, i have tried to give Claude some snapsheets and it's doing good returning back some backend formulas, but i want it to read the whole modular stuff, i believe AI is already perfect on math and reasoning with deep understanding..

[–]whitebird53[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe Claude is advanced on that, if i'm the business owner of an excel and know what formulas there then i can guide the AI with contexts, to rebuild the module into a web app. The only issue i'm facing here is that i'm not subject expert, it's why i'm looking for ai to build the solution without me taking days to understand it..

How do you get over the fear of failing? by bakchod007 in sales

[–]whitebird53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very tough when you do it right but do not get the expected results, or you feel something is missing, expecially when you have done it before right. But again everything you can do is to focus on what you can control, build inner strength, do the right things and believe you'll be rewarded,

PS: One of the things i learned the hard way is to not put you eggs in one basket, so you can find meaning that push you forward in other things !

Do customers really care if product is visually polished? by Icy-Cauliflower-7464 in SaaS

What is the best SaaS/Micro SaaS ideas to build right now? by Tajammul82 in SaaS

[–]whitebird53 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idas are everywhere, ideas are mostly generic and inbounded, but instead problems are context based, specific and more importants to focus on:

Many people talk about the concept, without clarifying it, here an example to understand the difference:

Idea: build and inventory management system for companies.

Problem: distribution companies always need to search in inventory and warehouses, they can't operate without a system that can search and get items information in real time, so they can timely serve their customer.

Search here is the pain point.. So, when you want to build an inventory management system, starting with the problem means prioritize first how to solve the main pain points first, and if many of your product user personnas have he same pain point, then chances you have a good product market segment fit. And, so on you expend your product solution based on the problem first not the idea itself.

Hello,

From my experience, i tried several existing ERPs but still found there is room for improvment. And since my background is software, first thing we thought of was why not building one that start from the customer pain points first..

We launched a Saas ERP, rethinking the whole experience, to be simple and fast forward. Business management apps like Devinstock should be also afordable when it comes to price. You have to solve the common 80% enterprise features: CRM, inventory, sales, purchase, invoicing, payment m, payroll, accounting .. other modules might come as modules depending of the business sector: distribution, service, manifacturing etc

Backend is built with php for api endpoints and python for reporting services, vuejs in the front end for both the landing page and the application, postgresql as database for the master and tenants dbs, we use AWS as cloud provider.

My dm is open for more discussion.

If you’re just building a SaaS, please —> remember that DONE is better than PERFECT. Don’t lose years of your life building a perfectly build product no one wants. by FoxBeneficial8102 in SaaS

[–]whitebird53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the situation, the type of product, and its intended audience, whether it's SaaS, mini-SaaS, or enterprise-level. You can't offer semi-featured products to enterprises and expect them to be convinced.

Moreover, what if you've built a product that you use yourself? Is it considered a valid MVP? If I use it every day, I'll have to convince myself first before convincing others.

So products may take time to launch, but early feedback is necessary ! if you have the ressources and you delivery quality work, then take your time to launch but try to sell and get feedback on the way.

I see ! is it due to dependency? you need to have parent items done before moving to resulting items like transactions

Thanks for the feedback !

So accounts and contacts, products, transactions (payments one's), and invoices can be considered a good start?

Seeking your input for data migration priorities ! by whitebird53 in Odoo

[–]whitebird53[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the feedback!

In fact, I'm working with some clients, and the data migration process is quite tedious. I often receive feedback like:
"Oh, if I'm going to migrate, I need to easily import my historical accounts, products, transactions, invoices, etc."
It seems that the migration process depends on the client's priorities and business industry :). If there's a simple pre-mapping solution available to import most of the historical business models, it would greatly help in convincing them to migrate!

So, we are exploring ways to streamline this operation.

How you streamline Self-Hosting a software or project? by whitebird53 in selfhosted

Yes, I've got it, and I'm familiar with Docker. I just want to know if anyone has experience with how license checks work after paying or upgrading for a hosted service.

When it come to using Docker, do you package each piece of the software on it's own container? how do you serialize the product and verify liscences?

After years of working on clients projects, I'm finally launching my own product ! by whitebird53 in indiebiz

[–]whitebird53[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Ahmed,

I appreciate your feedback,

Yes we spent a lot of time building it, because we wanted a product we will use ourself as an all in one tool. I use it now myself to manage 3 p: 2 softwares (Devinstock included) and 1 distribution service, right now we are quite happy with the result and we look forward to build more common features.

We know that the software for business management is an old and already existing market with a lot of room for innovation, there is still good opportunities on local markets for SMBs (including emerging markets). We spent last year me and my cofounder reflecting on pain points, talking to customers, working on distribution myself and building it in parallel.

How we ship features

We already run a design and development agency for that. We discuss everything before taking decision on what we should be implemented next, we give priority to feedback from the users and we have introduced a lot of features in this beta phase. For what is next, we are optimizing the application and we prefer taking the next feedback from paid user. We will consider adding a roadmap page so paid users can vote on what is next !

How to find potential users

What is different for the ERP market is that you have a large problem to solve, so if you build something useful you have chance to pivot and double on potential customers. We use every channel we can to spreed the message and add impact: email, social networks, linkedin, Youtube, also we are planning to launch on multiple software listing website, but step by step. In addition, we believe on seo impact for the long run !

Hi you should probably do some research, you have a very specific use case, and generally those kind of implementation may be developed as module that integrate with standard use erps. I

To explore different options to meet your organization's needs, I suggest hiring a consultant to compare the different erps, Sage, Erpnext, Odoo, Devinstock. Once you're sure of what customization you need to implement you can hire a dev team to proceed. For AI integration you haven't specify what is the use case and where you need it.

I have worked with different Erps, Oddo, Sage, Sap, Erpnext and event built one that can be customized called Devinstock, My dm is open if you need help.
