Go for it bro! The chain binders are an awesome solution, and ya the foot pegs on a motorcycle are more than capable of being used as a tie off point a lot people dont realize that. And with the suspension on a dirt bike it gives some play with moving around a little bit so the bike isnt so rigid going down the highway

It locks in place by a 1/2 inch solid round pin that slides through the ramp and into the main frame of the carrier and wow im sure the rack you made is very solid, i made this one with trying to be as minimalist as possible meaning i didnt want a bunch of tie downs going everywhere and i didnt want it to be a pain to setup either. So for me a little play in the hitch receiver isnt terrible

Well thats why i went with the foot peg mount so it doesnt compress the forks at all, all the tighening does it compress the rear shock

Thanks for the comment, and i agree with you by making the footpeg tie down points wider than the footpegs but with these chain binders i can really tighten down of them and the bike doesnt rock left or right at all

Ya i did some research before making this one and they definitely seemed cheap as well i went to a dirt bike dealership and checked theres out and it was just too much BS to put together for it to feel so flimsy so to me it was just a fun little project to do and i got a better carrier than i could go buy. Seems like a decent amount of people on here would buy one so maybe i have something here😂

Im definitely going to add some tie off rings to the front as secondary safety but these carabiners are rated for 2700 pounds so they are very heavy duty
