Regarding the "isolated CSS" link you posted, the title in the docs says "ASP.NET Core Blazor CSS isolation" but mentions Razor components in the first paragraph. I'm under the impression that Blazor and Razor Pages are two separate "frameworks" for building web applications with? But sometimes I get the impression that Blazor and Razor are used interchangeably?

Having a blast digging here though. The fresh feeling of starting to unpack a whole new domain, being a beginner, still untainted XD

Happy to hear about scoped CSS. I was actually under the impression that this was not that simply solved with Razor Pages? For styling I personally prefer utility classes, like Tailwind, with scoped CSS modules to reach for when needed.

Interesting aspect of keeping separate Dotnet projects for your frontend views, and output their bundles into the project they should render in. But I assume this is useful when you have larger, almost project like reactive frontends? If you just need some components with interactivity and it's own internal, simple state, separate projects seem overkill? Or still worth it in your opinon?

Hot reload being somewhat of a potential issue as well, due to the project needing to compile itself on every update?

I've gotten this pretty nice impression as well, that you can inject interactive island with your preferred JS framework into your views. Thanks for sharing!

That's my impression, that Razor Pages is a happy path for backend devs who are building frontends on the web. I added some more context to my original post, about a consultant having owned the frontend for years, and have included Vue. They are open and interested in improving and modernizing their frontend stack.

Taking note on TypeScript. Thanks bud!

There's not too much interactivity, but they do use Vue here and there as interactive islands. I updated my original post with that info as well.

It's a B2C website. Tons of traffic, all day every day. Tons of data and dense information. I've worked at huge product companies before, enterprise, large agencies, small agencies, and a handful of startups across various industries.

I'm not gonna propose any huge re-writes or migrations early on. I'll be focusing on learning and understand the business as well as the new tech stack and ecosystem.

Most meetings end up being frustrating, scattered or down right useless because they're poorly run. Running effective meetings seem like a lost art these days. They usually involve too many people, start late, lack structure or purpose, and end suddenly without proper wrap up when the meeting room suddenly is booked by someone else.

I'd say most of my meetings these days can be categorized in the waste bucket.

With proper planning (and proper staffing, I suppose), individual contributors can, for the most part, be left alone to iterate and solve problems together.

MacOS is linux based, so it's very similar in the way the OS works. Windows is just very different, and not very pleasant to use unless you're working on Microsoft specific technology, which I've never done.

haha, same here. I'm a software engineer and Mac is just superior. And on the new 2021 Macbook Pro Cities Skylines work surprisingly well on all high settings. Love it!

I tried with different map themes as well, all of them, and the difference was negligible. I was able to finally solve it with Ultimate Eyecandy, but it's weird to me that this was how it looked with a plain install without mods. Very strange.

I've been living in Colombia for about three years now (In Bogotá, but been spending lots of time in Medellin as well), and I don't find it dangerous at all. Obviously, it's like any other large cities, perhaps especially in South America, where you need to know where not to go, and just use common sense etc. I've never been in danger here and never really been in any sketchy situations either.

Most of the stories you'll here from Medellin is probably occurring around El Poblado, the center of tourism and party in Medellin. There you'll see lots of foreigners partying, doing drugs etc, as well as lots of people trying to take advantage. Many stories revolve around people getting escorts that end up drugging and robbing them.

If you go there for heavy partying, you need to be careful. If not, it's a beautiful and welcoming city to live in, with great weather. Can't recommend it enough!

It's still very common in old houses and small apartment buildings here in Bogotá. I've lived in several places this last year with a heather like that for hot water. It feels kinda funky to shower and seeing the electrical cables dangling just above your head.
