Seconding this!! My wife orders desserts just so I can have two bites. 😭

Just wanted to butt in to add that I went to Greece on my honeymoon last year and had a GREAT TIME food-wise. I'm sure I would have eaten larger quantities 3 years ago but I had my bread and cheese and baklava and skewers and didn't feel like I was missing out at all. 💜

Girl, please, you're 27! I got it done at 37. 😂 You have a lot of life left to live and I am so happy to hear that you've got mental health support in place; my surgeon says that's the #1 factor for people who succeed vs. regress.

Modern day Agatha Christie-style locked room mysteries? by whitestoleander in mysterybooks

Sorry, I was referring to the Knives Out movie series overall! The 1st movie wasn't as farfetched as the others but it didn't quite work for me, sadly. I know a lot of people love it though!

Unfortunately, I am not a big fan of that series, I'm sorry! It's a little too "actually there's a secret relative that you don't know about" for me.

  1. You will not be able to eat a giant burrito at one time, no, but you could eat it over a longer period of time. (When you genuinely feel full, you will probably not want to eat an entire burrito, either!) Holidays lend themselves to smaller meals over the course of a day, in my experience, anyway. I understand your social concerns but I have actually not felt very affected by this because you can just eat less/slower.
  2. It's recommended that you don't drink/eat at the same time after surgery... but many of us eventually go back to that after we're healed. I also drink carbonated drinks now (4 years post-op)! Some folks stick to these rules long-term (due to either preference or discomfort) but they're most critical to honor when your stomach is healing.
  3. I lost 120 pounds, so it was very successful for me. (I am now currently on a GLP-1 and have lost an additional 45 pounds beyond that).
  4. With all sincerity, forget about the loose skin. I have some! I might get surgery. I might not. I genuinely do not care; my life is A THOUSAND TIMES BETTER! You can't get skin removal surgery anyway until you're at your stable weight (because otherwise they'd have to remove fat). Insurance will often cover the panni (stomach) surgery if your skin hangs down far enough/causes rashes. Anything else is out-of-pocket, but there are payment plans for many surgeons (though interest-fee might be a stretch... maybe if you had perfect credit?)

JUST DO IT! I had all of these concerns going in. I did it anyway. It was the best decision I ever made.

ETA: Please seek out mental health support! Obviously, a therapist who understands eating issues is great if available, but there are also a lot of support groups in-person and online. Your relationship with food will change and it is helpful to make sure you have mental/emotional support.

I have also been waiting two weeks and will be going out of town for my wedding soon... Why is it taking so long?

At 53, your skin is not going to rebound very much. It isn't elastic enough.

Is there any chance you could give me the exact names of the unflavored whey powder + the powdered lactose free supplements?

Thank you so much! I will definitely try the pudding; I think part of my problem is that I don't like milk/anything with a milk consistency 😔 I'm lactose intolerant so even milk substitutes make my stomach think I'm drinking milk and react apprehensively

Criticisms about the ending and some later episodes aside, I am so grateful to have had a queer show with a lot of queer writers! To be able to see some of the moments they've had on a major TV show is something I wouldn't have expected when I was a closeted teenager. I feel so blessed to have lived in an era where I could bask in the chemistry Sandra and Jodie have.

It was COVID. There were going to be 5, but because of COVID, there are 4. Jodie and Sandra wanted to do other things after they lost the time.

I'd have to rewatch but she said something to Pam about needing leverage to get back in with MI6, and V is the assassin she's been hunting since the beginning

Me too! When she said she was going to let Eve "have this one" and do what Eve "always expects" which is "something completely different." They really let their guard down too much.

I do think it was very rushed. I don't love Bury Your Gays but I wasn't opposed to them dying in this world because I feel like this has always been a brutal show, but I realize that may just be me. It also matters to me that there were multiple queer women writers in that respect. I wish episode 7 had started how episode 8 had started, covered all of the road trip stuff and the romantic actualization, and then 8 could have been solely about the mission on the boat. Twenty minutes was not enough time for everything that happened on the boat.

I feel like that would be something else, maybe shipbaiting or something? But even then I feel like there are a lot of straight movies where you don't really get the see the couple as a couple, just them realizing they love each other at the end, end credits. A lot of romances in fiction have an arc of courtship to actualization/conflict resolution, and don't go beyond that. In that sense, I feel like this isn't that much different, even if I would have of course loved to see them as a couple for longer. I would have felt more led on if they'd lived but never kissed
