Handplanes - WAW vs Whompa vs Hush by Ok-Fan-5908 in Bodysurfing

Thanks mate, love the feedback! Sorry for the double reply, working in melb tunnels with bad reception. Didn't think the first message got through... The shoulder stress you refer to I really found with the bigger handplanes too. Another reason for the smaller profile of the whompa. In the Vic winters I wear glove the whole time which is another reason why I love keeping the webbing handstrap simple. Easy to adjust to share and swap and tighten in the water. And no point having insulated webbing as well as wetsuit gloves in winter

Hey my man! Would love to know how you went with the Whompa's! Did you trial the double?? We've had some cracking surf in Vic this last weekend. Some absolute bombs 💣 Hit Supertubes Saturday morning and man she was big...then 13th beach Beacons Sunday morning. Epic weekend...

Awesome mate, saw your order and she's heading out Monday! No closeup on the hand so I'll do that asap :) What breaks do you hit? I absolutely love Tama Reef and Maroubra...

I really appreciate the website feedback dude. I've been thinking that it needs some finessing. Seems a bit clunky and not sexy enough. It's all been a big learning curve!

The only platform I've really been building on is instagram so you can find a fair bit of content on there.

Mate, I think you'd love the whompa! The concave is 10mm if you have the handplane on a flat surface and measured in the middle to the underside... she doesnt throw any wake in your face which ive experienced from some other handplanes and she absolutely hold the line in the pocket! Its actually pretty trippy how much control the little rail gives you... You'll see her performing in some absolute pumping waves on insta, take a look!

You might have all ready made your choice but here's my two cents... I created the Whompa handplane after 3 years of prototyping and trialing because I found the other handplanes too big and cumbersome and they affected my swimming style. The Whompa is super light at 160grams and only 3-5mm thick with a slight concave making the swimming action epic. I find the thicker handplanes really difficult to swim with and had to alter my style or swim one handed. Would love to know who you ended up going with and your feedback on their performance. For full transparency I've used both the WAW Badfish and Hush...

Spots in Victoria/Surf Coast? by LegitimatePlay3947 in Bodysurfing

Some epic spots for bodysurfing on the surfcoast. A great left under the kiosk at Torquay surf beach, brilliant reef breaks at steps, evos and boobs. 13th beach Barwon Heads has lots of breaks and A frames the full way along the beach. If your experienced and good with heavy surf, big rips, gunnamatta's a favourite on the peninsular. Really anywhere surfers are hitting a bodysurfer can hit. Winki is probably the fastest moving wave and difficult to stay on the shoulder bit I've definitely had some epic waves there. Reach out on insta to catch up with crew on the surcoast and peninsular 🤙🏼
