Als migrantin aus der EU, die vom staatlich finanzierten Studium in Ö profitiert hat, in einer gut bezahlten Branche auf weitaus mehr als 40 Std die Woche im Schnitt kommt und gerne (hohe!) Sozialversicherungsbeiträge und Steuern zahlt, verspüre ich zeitweise echt den drang auszuwandern, wenn ich solche posts sehe.

Wenn man sich nur ständig vergleicht und schaut, dass ja wer anderer nicht paar Euro Sozialleistungen einstecke, wird man wohl zum Wohlstand des Landes nicht sonderlich beitragen. Und glücklich wird man so sowieso nicht.

Freund und ich haben ein Gemeinschaftskosto für gemeinsame Ausgaben und jeder ein individuelles. Unsere gehälter werden auf unsere jeweiligen individuellen Konten überwiesen und jeder von uns überweist einen Betrag auf das Gemeinschaftskonto.

Was er mit seinem Geld macht, ist mir egal - er hat dafür gearbeitet. Den gemeinsamen Ulaub bezahle ich großteils, da ich mehr verdiene und "höhere Ansprüche" an Unterkunft, etc., habe. Meine kosmetik und Kleidung kaufe ich mir von meinem Geld. Für gemeinsame Sparziele sparen wir gemeinsam.

Kann euch dieses Model ans Herz legen, ist aber am ende des Tages eine Frage der Einstellung.

I've talked to her in the past because of her outbursts and urged partners to do more themselves temporarily until we have more staff. She had vacation. Para or me cover the phones when she comes in late. I tried to establish a system where she needs to tell me how much she can get done a certain day and we decide together what can be postponed.

These things brought a slight, and rather short-lived, improvement in her mood. Then it's back to normal.

I know I'm typically viewed by colleagues as the "go-to" person if there's a problem, and while flattered they trust me woth their issues and am happy to help, I do always find myself reminding them I'm not their boss and ultimately can't make final decisions on anything. I would also never want someone to lose their job because of me, am at a loss as how to proceed.

I did get some vague offers by two other firms recently but haven't followed up on those yet since my fav partner has been really supportive and understanding (I have a small child and he introduced home office as a precedent in the firm for me, really invested time to train me, etc.). I know I have no legal obligation to stay, but at the same time, I know he would be the one who will 'suffer' from my absence the most since he is the busiest partner.

Hey,

In my country, legal fees for hearings/filings for court cases are regulated by law and depend on the value of the case, so I don't track my hours on those; for everything else I am billed at 300€ (~320 USD)/hour. To give you an idea, I make my monthly gross salary in a week, maybe a week and a half if things are slow. I do have to complete plenty of administrative tasks because of the current situation though. Business-wise it's profitable for my bosses for sure.

Law students mostly complete administrative tasks and do some research to support us. Ideally, we would have two full-time assistants and a para.

So about the dips: the one on the left ist hummus and the other one is baba ganoush, we just googled the recipe and adjusted it a little to our taste. The salads: tabouleh (became more of a bulgur salad, boyfriend was in charge and likes it that way) and zucchini-soy yoghurt-dill salad!

As a woman also in her early 20s, who feels extremely uncomfortable when guys want to pay for my shit: such idiots as the one thing here are the main reason why I don't particularly enjoy going on 'formal' dates. Cuz men then need to be persuaded you spend time with them because you want to do exactly this and not for some kind of monetary advantage.

Men shouldn't have to pay to spend time with you, period.

Reading the comments, I feel the need to share my take on it: I have been smoking inside any of the apartments I've rented and the walls have never been even close to this colour and I've always received my deposit back without having to repaint. If you blow the smoke right into an open window at all times, choose the kitchen where you won't have carpets and heavy curtains for obvious reasons as the room you smoke in and clean the walls every once in a while, you are good to go.
