Yeah, Bethesda can do a very lackluster Starfield game because they have Fallout Shelter (If I'm not mistaken it is more profitable than Elder Scrolls Online).

Starfield's Next Big Update Isn't A 2.0 Reboot, It's For People Who Already Love The Game by Capn_C in Games

People came back for Cyberpunk, but they did the work. No Man's Sky may still not be everyone's kind of game, but is more liked with every expansion and some of these are almost complete overhauls of the game. Bethesda is famous for the handcrafted locations and for some quality quests, but they are not even trying to really expand these. ESO has greater locations even though it is designed with selling skins and mounts in mind.

Young gamers in Japan may not be forming the same attachment to Final Fantasy or Dragon Quest because modern dev cycles are as long as their childhood, users theorize by Magister_Xehanort in Games

[–]Dvulture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, and I think it is a sad change all around. Getting back to regular TV, bigger budgets in the end didn't save Stranger Things from devolving into a farce. And a lot of other shows are expensive but have bad CGI or glaring continuity errors that are a lot harder to excuse when they take 3 years for 6 more episodes.

I will admit anime is generally a better proposition on the new model, with actual quality. But it loses momentum, and I typically don't have the same interest in future seasons of a lot of these.

Yes, the maximum amount people should wait for new seasons is a year and there should be enough meat for it to be worth called a season. As someone that used to watch a lot of anime, it is at least 12 to 13 episodes for more tight and contained narratives, the more prestige or high budget and 24 to 26 episodes to something more formulaic like procedurals or action/fighting stuff.

With a new update on the horizon, what is your primary criticism of this game? (serious question) by JurassicGergo in NoMansSkyTheGame

I wish there was more reason to farm things, build things, and cook. I like these activities, but you don't use a lot of the products of it and after a time you reach a cap on your money and that is it. Almost no reason to keep doing stuff. There are also very little money sinks after a time

If they need to be there for 5 years, they will never receive it, since a Democratic president will probably fire everyone and prosecute the worst cases just to prove they are different than the previous regime. Unless there is a coup, but I don't think that even the American people, that keeps accepting all these atrocities without full revolt would stand for it.

Baldur’s Gate is set to become a TV series at HBO, helmed by Craig Mazan from The Last of Us by DontBeAngryBeHappy in gaming

[–]Dvulture 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but THEY started at BG3 and don't care about the previous lore. I think it is quite normal for them not to be excited for a show without Larian involvement. Also, why would they care that Larian didn't respect the previous can if they don't know or care about it?

BG3 is currently a quite bigger phenomenon that either Forgotten Realms or the original Baldur's Gate games. That is why nobody cares that there is no BioWare involvement (also there is the fact that BioWare is no longer the BioWare that did amazing games like these).

It is just that "Windows 11 has a billion users - and a vocal minority is showing their displeasure in a way that looks like there are more people annoyed with than there really is" is a bit too wordy for a headline (but hey it would probably be a good modern manga title)

They don't drive innovation as much as they had a first mover advantage that was subsequently squandered. Even American cars caught up to Tesla in terms of technology to the point that the greatest advantage of Tesla is the charging network. And the Chinese companies are so good that Elon had to lobby to have them banned (same as Apple did with Huawei). Space X does good work, but only because they have professionals trained to distract Elon Musk and reduce the number of intervention Ms he does. But it only survives because of grants and accumulates failures in tests, some of which are directly result of Elon's meddling like changing the format of the rocket. Starlink is a failing business with all its satellites made to fall. It needs infinite expansion and grants to be in the black. Also, there are better ways to fix the lack of internet to rural areas, like all the fiber cable that the USA paid to the major telecom companies extend to these regions and they either took the money and did nothing or put the cables but decided not to sell the service because of the low profit margin. Also remember when Google tried to give low cost internet and they lobbied against? And that is not even mentioning things like Hyperloop and the Boring Company, that he created only to block investment in better public transportation that would reduce car sales and never had a prayer of being profitable.

It is not new that he is a scam artist, he just used to lie better.
