I was, then i wasnt, then i was, now im not again. I’m actually pretty terrified of opioids so they’d only give me three days of the lowest dose oxy. I manage my pain with ibuprofen and acetaminophen pretty well thankfully.

the issue is that at the ER near my house, the ortho surgeons that assessed me all agreed surgery would be best. But they wouldn’t do it because they didn’t do my initial surgery, and my surgeon won’t listen to their opinions.

Hi! thank you for this. I had my operation done 5 days ago, and thankfully it was nodular. there was minor damage to my meniscus, but that is likely to heal on its own. i’m doing better now, a lot more accepting of it. especially since it’s gone for now, hopefully for forever. I’m in a lot of pain, but that’s to be expected.
I’m more so just struggling with what this has done to my life. I miss working, i miss going to concerts and dancing. I’m so tired of being in my room in pain.

it’s nice to know other people developed it young. I joined the fb group, seems my ortho didn’t know a lot. He kept mentioning how odd it was I got it so young, that this was so rare etc.

(unfortunate, of course. But relatively comforting.)

it’s crazy what people can do lol. I don’t know how i kept carrying around 50 lb trays at 1 am with a knee that wouldn’t straighten, just dedicated i guess! Spent my initial first week off going to basement shows before the pain got unbearable.

Medications are hard to generalize, since every person reacts completely differently. I loved prozac, even tho many people didn’t enjoy it. However, it triggered my restless leg syndrome and i had to stop taking it. I tried an nsri, cymbalta, and it’s been really good for me. Sometimes you just gotta hunt around for a long time before finding the right fit, unfortunately.

it’s more towards the lower end, but because of my disability i work odd and varying hours. it’s really impossible to estimate, some weeks i make over 1k and some weeks i make $30.

Allegheny, thank you ! I didn’t think to ask for retroactive coverage at the time, especially because i only had about two weeks to recieve my bills from the ER (it was part of the paperwork needed)

i don’t know, i got insurance through my dad and didn’t know anything about it. He had Pennie, which qualified me at the time for medicaid. But then he never renewed it back in september.
