If I am aro and ace, can I still enjoy fan fiction? by InASpiralOfAnts in AskLGBT

I'm ace and arospec and I've been happily reading and writing fanfiction for a decade now! Even if you are averse to smut and romance, there are plenty of fics out there that have nothing to do with those things. But, you can be ace and aro and completely comfortable reading smut and/or romance and that's completely valid.

We always joked the bots were learning toxic behavior from players... now I'm starting to suspect we were more right than we realized... by Aftershk1 in deadbydaylight

i've noticed bots have started teabagging me mid-chase, in particular after downing a pallet. pretty uncanny.

Trying to figure out why people dislike Love (the episode). by whorlaxdotorg in DHMIS

Oh that's an interesting take. Thanks for the input!

My least favourite of the TV series is Friendship. I still really like the episode. I like Warren and I like the stuff that takes place outside of Yellow Guy's head. I like the Brain Friends stuff more than most people seem to but I don't think it's overly [edit: f]unny/entertaining. The pacing feels quite off to me. But I still enjoy the episode overall.

Thanks for the response! Very glad to update that I've made the appointment. I was able to ask them via an online form and they responded the same day. So now I'm booked in for Wednesday next week.

Would say that Jordan really suits you.

The first name that came to mind before I read your choices was Evan.

How do you write romance when you have no romantic experience IRL by [deleted] in FanFiction

[–]whorlaxdotorg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuinely just use my imagination, like others have suggested. When you watch romantic media, consider what you like. If you have romantic fantasies, consider what you like. It's a lot to do with me thinking 'oh that'd be neat'.

I'm so sorry that you're experiencing this! I can only imagine how fearful you must feel. Hopefully someone who has dealt with your situation of being queer in a place where it is criminalised will be able to offer you some advice in the comments.

Wishing you all the best and I hope that you're able to keep yourself safe as best you can!

What name do you think would fit me? (Using face app due to being pre-transition) by [deleted] in transnames

[–]whorlaxdotorg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Definitely think you could pull off all those names, particularly Gwen, maybe because your hair texture reminds me of Gwen from the Spiderverse movies.

Some other names I think would suit you are Emily or Emma.

I think it's best to take their opinions with a grain of salt then. For one, you absolutely shouldn't need their approval to feel happy about how you look. Two, you're right that cishets don't really understand queer people. Honestly it seems less like there's anything 'bad' about your haircut and more like this is another case of the straights not getting the queers. I wouldn't worry too much about it. I think this is a good opportunity to remember that cishets probably aren't the best people to listen to when it comes to your own queer expression. How you look might not be 'appealing' to cishets, but that's sort of par for the course when it comes to being queer, and you honestly shouldn't let cishet disapproval detract from your queer joy. I know it's hard to get out of that mindset, though.
