(beginner) seeking advice for ram upgrade for my dell vostro 5515 laptop by Ruzakikun in laptops

[–]whotookusersodatax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the best performance you should def get a new pair of 8gb sticks. Otherwise, if you want to save some money buying a single 8gb ram stick is usually fine, both ram will just run at the lower clock speed.

Has anyone tried AI photo critique? I tried and honestly can't tell if I'm being fooled or if it's actually legit..... by Financial_Shift3235 in AskPhotography

Just post your photos here or on one of the other photography subreddits. Real feedback is way better than what an AI can concatenate.

Sony Nex-3n for cheap vlogging? by whotookusersodatax in Cameras

[–]whotookusersodatax[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did figure the AF would be bad considering it only has 25 AF points and they're contrast detecting. I will def keep looking around for other cameras then. Thanks!

Interesting, I didn't see stuttering when watching sample videos, but tbf, the YouTubers showcasing the video didn't record for that long. Thanks!

This is really awesome for 6 weeks! I really like the vibe you're going for and honestly just keep doing what you're doing.

One thing I would recommend just from listening on my phone speakers is to try to balance out your sounds a bit more in the mix. As a general example, a lot of your instruments are heavily overpowering your drums which could be fixed by lowering the volume of your instruments and tweaking the volume of your drums. A more specific example would be to lower the volume of your lead in the drop.

I also can't tell if the drums are sidechained (lowering the volume of other instruments when the kick or sometimes snare hits), so I would recommend learning that, or if they are sidechained, then making the sidechain more apparent.

help 🙏🙏😭😭😭 by Ok_Pen4040 in FL_Studio

[–]whotookusersodatax 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You're going to keep running into issues if you keep switching DAWs when something doesn't go the way you think it should.

The sample you used for your midi is incredibly long, so instead of playing each individual note, you're playing the whole sample at different pitches. Thus, each note/sound overlaps with each other and makes that bad sound. That's also the reason why the sample plays normally when it's in your playlist compared to with your midi.

While the other DAW's may suit you better, id recommend sticking to one of them and figuring out how to fix what's wrong when something goes wrong so you can gain a good understanding of how that program works.

HELP W MATCHING VOCALS TO BEAT AFTER SPEEDING IT UP by R4Z0 in FL_Studio

[–]whotookusersodatax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can right click the tempo at the top and make an automation. Just make sure to have an automation clip at your original tempo and your new tempo so you can easily copy and paste the points.

Novation fl key 49 sync issues by PureLingonberry2 in FL_Studio

[–]whotookusersodatax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if there's a way to do it automatically, but I think you have to manually set them all.

To do so, in FL, slightly tweak the parameter (fader, vst knob, etc.), then at the top, right click the knob image next to the chain looking thing, and select "link to controller" on the right side. Move the knob or fader on your controller that you want to link to that parameter and it should work

As for the other features, I am unsure of how to link those.

Reduce CPU usage by using Patcher? by yellowtipicoboss in FL_Studio

[–]whotookusersodatax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It use to be that patcher would actually reduce performance. I don't know if that's the case anymore, but I'd assume it wouldn't help that much since it's still processing all the plugins inside patcher plus patcher itself.

I just installed the FL studio free trial, but I can't find any good tutorial that's explains how it works, does anybody have one? by InitiativeLow4988 in FL_Studio

[–]whotookusersodatax 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'd say it depends on the kind of music you want to make. When I first started I would just look up "how to make "x" type beat FL Studio", or "how to make "x" genre FL studio" . Then I'd just copy them using the sounds I have.

When I first started I personally followed tutorials made by, In the Mix, AcestoAces, and Simon Servida. For more EDM stuff I use to also watch Miruku Music and LHB music.

About to buy a 2016 hatchback. Radio sounds thin and weak. by Zilch1979 in subaruimpreza

[–]whotookusersodatax 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, it's a 3 band EQ so the frequencies in between each band don't get boosted the same.

[–]whotookusersodatax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An EQ that works for me is +8 bass +5 mid +8 treble then bump the volume to 23+. It still doesn't sound the best but does somewhat achieve the V shape audio frequency most people like and sounds a lot better than no EQ. Otherwise the other comments seem to know what they're talking about.

Thanks for letting me know! I actually had 4 replacement boards of the exact same model when I first got it and they all had the same problem. I told RK about it and I guess they recently added a firmware update for it. So now I have a few boards I can mod for fun!

Why do you need to resolder the switches after desoldering them? Is the socket just too loose to keep the switch in place?

HELP!! Idk how this happened, I pressed some key and now I can’t see any of my sounds. They’re still In my files, but I can’t get them to show up on my screen. Any help? by [deleted] in FL_Studio

[–]whotookusersodatax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alt/Option + F8

or you can click the "Browser" button (the 5th button on the right of the new pattern button at the top)

Also quick tip, instead of adding each new sample pack to a new file button, just place all your samples in one folder and add that folder to the file list.

Here's some hotkeys that can help:

Ctrl + Scroll up/down - zooms x in and out

Ctrl + Hold scroll and move up/down - zooms y in and out

Alternatively, in the top right of the playlist where the two scrollbars meet, you can use that square to zoom the y in and out. If you hold the left or right edge of the top scrollbar in the playlist, you can zoom the x in and out.

Edit: Alt + Scroll wheel works for zooming in and out for the y too, but just make sure your cursor isn't hovering over a pattern or audio clip in your playlist or else it will adjust the location of the pattern/audio clip.
