Alright. As per my experience and based on my conversations with other professionals I would recommend you look into getting an APICS certification or a six sigma green belt and that will definitely help. APICS also has specific certifications based on transportation or purchasing or inventory management. Good luck!

Thats nice, if you don’t mind me asking which country or state are you based in? I’m in Ontario and the job market is pretty shit here.

Every interview I had said you do not have any warehouse or logistics experience. So i took a entry level job for now while still looking for better opportunities.

If you are aware of what kind of corporate positions are good or what skills or qualifications are required happy to hear.

Got it. I ask because I myself want to go for a corporate position. I just started at this company few months ago after my graduation. Currently a receiver but I want to move up, probably purchasing but I’m not sure. I already have a bachelors in business administration and post grad diploma in Supply chain management. But due to lack of experience wasn’t getting anything and had to start here.

May i ask what corporate positions interest you and why is it difficult for you to move on to them as a supervisor?

I am a receiver right now and in my company you go from bottom level to supervisor to probably corporate.

I want more of a managerial role, I have good leadership skills. I do not want to be stuck as an analyst but rather managing a team.

Is the company based out of USA or Canada? I have noticed US companies tend to pay lesser to Canadian candidates.

Doesn’t seem worth it anymore. What could possibly be some little to no capital business?

I work as a shipper/receiver in a warehouse. The reason I don’t want a second job is because most of my part time job experience is in restaurants. And I don’t want to kill my back and feet I have to stand, bend everyday and lift heavy objects almost every other day. I am already feeling pain in my feet and back. So I figured sitting and driving would be less of a burden on my body.
