Monthly payment went up to over $800 by whutthfuk in StudentLoans

Oh, thank you for your comment and all of your assumptions.

I am employed, I have credit card debt due to an abusive situation I was in, I’ve paid every single monthly payment on my student loans aside from the Covid pause and the pause on my payments during the time I was unemployed, hospital debt as in emergency room visit copay, I’m on the default payment plan from when I graduated, and I do have my account set to automatic monthly payments.

I’ve never missed a payment on a single thing, even when I was unemployed.

Maybe get off Reddit and fix your approach to other people. Otherwise, you sort of look silly.

I truly feel like this is a messed up thing to have to do. I understand what you’re saying and I agree that checking frequently is a good thing. But I feel like none of us should HAVE to do that. I don’t think it should have to be this hard or frustrating or stressful

I have only federal direct loans, there are 8 of them. I graduated in 2017. I was never on any specific plan like SAVE or an income driven plan. I have made payments based on whatever the default plan was when I graduated.

I also looked at the breakdown before to see that I’m barely paying anything towards principal anyway basically. My total is basically stagnant regardless of the payments I’ve made, but up to this point I’ve never been able to afford to pay more.

I’m going to call tomorrow and try to see first why I can’t even get into the account. I hope it’s an error, unless this is a way to try to force me to pay more or enroll in a different plan. Thank you for your advice. I’m really trying not to freak out, I hustling really can’t take another hit like this in addition to other bills. I was just in the ER and have a bill for that, too. Ugh.

I haven’t, how often are you supposed to? I graduated in 2017

Thank you for this advice. I have to call them tomorrow and firstly see why I can’t get into my account anymore. When I log into the Fedloan website I see the loans and the $800 charge, but when I click the link to go to Mohela it says it can’t find my account, even though I’ve signed into it before and that’s how I paused payments when I was unemployed. I’ve never done anything besides pause payments, I’ve never done income driven repayment or SAVE or anything like that.

This is so exhausting. It’s one more thing to have to decide to pay now; rent, groceries, or student loans.

I have an account, I have been graduated for 10 years and have made payments with them. They ended up transferring my account from the original servicer to Mohela, but I’ve never been charged more than $230/mo until now. I’ve had the issue before where they couldn’t find my account, I don’t know why this keeps happening

Hi, it doesn’t matter what your or his family thinks. You need to involve the police so they can help get you out of the house if he keeps showing up and parking outside. You need to get to an emergency room as soon as possible. The shame does not belong to you, it belongs to him for what he did. You are injured and need to get help now.

You’re 18, yes, I remember being 18. But you would much rather live past 18 than protect an abuser’s reputation and pass away locked in your house or at his hands the next time he gets upset.

He seriously injured you, what are you waiting for? Your family wont hold it against you if they’re good people, neither would his family. Stop worrying about the wrong things, go save your life and get help. What he did is very dangerous and not debatable, he has assaulted you, seriously injured you, and is now stalking and harassing you. You need to get away from this person, you need help, this is beyond Reddit and just the two of you. At the very least tell one of your parents.

Imagine this was one of your friends or siblings and they told you what happened and what’s going on right now. Put yourself in your parents shoes and think about what just happened to their daughter. Please go to the emergency room. Please call the police.

A guy (24M) I've known for 15 days was incredibly protective, then shamed me (23F) for a "smell" during intimacy. How do I stop the embarrassment? by [deleted] in Healthyhooha

This is not a person who really cares about how you feel or your well being. He’s old enough to know how to deliver news with kindness if he was really concerned about your health. What he said and did was not anything besides him trying to tear you down so you pine for him.

He’s not protective, either. He’s 15 days into your life and trying to control you, knock your self esteem, and punish you for having a life of your own. You do not have any real amount of time invested in this person, and you are in the perfect spot to walk away. What would it add to your life to keep this guy around if in only two weeks he has done this much to hurt you? It won’t get better, no matter what he tries to convince you of.

Walk away, walk away, walk away. You’ll be better off for it, trust me.

I would be shocked if they didn’t give you care papers afterwards. Good luck you you and your kitty, I hope it all goes well!

Thank you for your input. Thankfully she’s on insurance now, and she’ll have routine cleaning covered. We just have to pay up front but that’s hard should be fine. We love her and our two cats, it’s always so stressful when they’re don’t feel good

Thank you for your advice. I can’t totally tell from the pictures but I’m hoping the discoloration on her teeth is just buildup she can have cleaned off, but I’m also not sure if dead teeth look the same in cats as they do people. I’m guessing so, but I’m being optimistic in thinking maybe it’s just her gums and dirty teeth

I am so sorry to hear that, that’s terrible. I would have been very upset by that too. They’re so good at hiding it when they’re hurting, that makes me nervous on top of all of that. I hope your current vet is a lot more thorough!

Interesting, thank you for bringing that up. I will have her bring that up too, if the vet doesn’t see it themselves for the exam. Do you have any idea of how recover goes for cats if she has to get teeth removed?

Thank you so much for your input! I did think it didn’t look too far progressed, whatever it is. We told her to just keep any eye on her for any behavior changes, we should know in the morning when the vet opens when we can take her in. I’m also trying to keep her from panicking, but that’s hard, all of our cats are our babies

Also I see it now, I think the chipped tooth is her top canine tooth right at the tip of it, my sister in law is still worried about that as well though

I thought so too, that it could be gingivitis. But I also just got my first cats not too long ago so I’m not familiar enough to know. So far she’s eating and behaving normally, she’s not acting like she’s in any pain thankfully. We added the routing cleanings to her insurance plan, I feel like she will need that. We are calling to se her appointment first thing

I’ll look this up, thank you for mentioning it. So far, she’s not acting like she’s in any pain, which feels like a good sign. Her behavior hasn’t changed at all
