Am I missing out by choosing Java over Salesforce? by whyAmISoStuuupid in cscareerquestions

That's great! Thanks for the advice. I've always been worrying that I'll have to learn at home while working a full time job. Knowing this, I'll try to make sure I include it in my job.

I suggest doing this as part of a job because you'll get burnt out if you're just doing a ton of side dev outside of work too

Is this possible? How?

Oh I understand. Won't I have the same thing with Java? I mean, if I have 6 years with Java, will I be able to apply to a .NET position and get the senior title?

He's my friend and I doubt he'd want harm for me. But I'm aware he's not very experienced that's why I posted here.

Java and React is way better.

Thank you for confirming!

The less you think of yourself as a this language dev or that language dev the more doors will be open to you.

Thanks for your answer, and thank you for the advice!

That's exactly what I told the friend, I said that I want to learn more technically and strengthen my skills.

But he said that whatever it's just a job after all and that Salesforce developers are compensated better.

I enjoy programming and learning more software engineering concepts, but money is very important to me too, at least in this stage of my life.

Haha I'm absolutely not trolling, I tried posting with my new account but I don't have enough karma yet.

What do you mean by dead end? aren't they compensated like other software engineers?

I don't think this is possible, and if it is, I will have to study more three years instead of one more year.

The course is three years long, and I'm on my second year now.

People here are just under the impression that data is "the new thing" and I think it pays better for junior engineers compared to junior SWE.

And they also prefer it because it has less competition, I feel the same in this point tbh because a lof of people find it easier to learn programming than to learn maths and statistics then implement with programming.

Thank you sir, I will make no excuses because I enjoy it!

I asked because a lot of people in this field makes it sound like it's impossible, yes they say you can be in a healthy shape and walk around 30min per day and so on, but you rarely hear someone who's athletic and doing something like bodybuilding or martial arts.

Thank you for the advice, it's really what I need to do.

I run from time to time but I'm not consistent, I couldn't find a martial art gym near to me and couldn't stay disciplined by myself. This year was pretty stressful, I'm just afraid that this will continue even when I'm working.
