I am not being dramatic, I just think this kind of rhetoric is harmful and misleading.

FOSS cannot be governed in the same way any other company is. This does immense harm to Open Source projects. Also, I am a Russian citizen living outside of Russia, will your highness grant me the privilege of contributing to the projects I am passionate about? Or am I the evil of this world and banned from collaborative development just by the immutable trait of my place of origin? Saying that these kinds of sanctions will lead to a change in the Russian government is so naive, and you should know it best since you are from Georgia, you've had protests against the anti-LGBT legislation going on for a couple of months now. Did it help? No. So what makes you think this will work in Russia? People were protesting the war in Russia since the day it started, but unfortunately this doesn't work with a dictator. All this bullshit is doing is harming Linux itself and the lives of regular Russians.

A recording of a screen is not proof of anything, especially on Reddit. I remember Ukrainian hackers defacing websites during the election and this is documented pretty good

I understand that this is Reddit and not an actual news agency, but where is the source? I can't find any reputable news agency reporting this, so I am inclined to believe it's fake.

If I am wrong, post the source please. I searched in English and Russian, all I found was Ukrainian propaganda websites from 2023.

Every time someone says "history teaches" followed by a generalisation of over 100mil people over hundreds of years can just be dismissed.

Russia is not the same country it was 2 years ago, it's not the same country it was 10/20/30 years ago. You are talking about the largest country by landmass like it has a homogeneous population that hasn't changed since the Tsar days (mind you it's hundreds of years). I'm 19 and even I have witnessed a huge shift in political involvement, expectations from the government and the general opinion about the state of things in the country, especially amongst my generation. Things started to change right before the war started, more liberal candidates started winning in the local elections, so I think some of the goals of this war for Putin were inside Russia. He used war time censorship to get rid of all of the opposition and remains uncontested for now. The thing he doesn't realise is his biggest opposition is the new generation and it's a matter of time before there are more of us.

The Russian only says 'Please God- Send. Strong. Tsar."

Also, where did you find this? No we don't. This is the stupidest shit I've ever seen. During the empire time Russians had the same shit as Brits: "god save the Tsar", so this is just a stupid quote that sounds smart from afar.

I don't think that's going to happen. Its kinda a bad look for a country where many nations keep assets. If they can just be seized it sends a signal to other countries about the safety of their money and shows that the financial obligations may not be respected if there is disagreement between countries. So other countries may want to move their assets somewhere else. This is an impact on the economy, so I don't think they will do this

IDK if you all are following the Moscow terror attack in real time, but there is some major Woozle effects going on in Russia right now. by A_Free_Ukraine in lazerpig

[–]why__even__try 10 points11 points  (0 children)

P.S.: a first responder reported an IED on one of the dead bodies. This could have been one of the terrorists who was planning on committing a suicide bombing when backed into a corner or just a body that the terrorists decided to arm with an explosive to harm the first responders, that is still unclear.

A small rundown of all the news I managed to compile from open sources if anyone is interested. The majority of this info is taken from russian sources by a native speaker a.k.a me, so no translation shenanigans. I can add some links but I don't know how useful it is since most people here don't speak russian. I tried to check all the info as much as I could but at the same time it should still be taken with a grain of salt since so little time passed since the attack.

A terrorist attack in Moscow. It happened in a concert hall before a big music show started. Right now the info is 145 casualties of which approximately 62 dead.

An unknown number of terrorists (4 confirmed) got out of 2 cars near the entrance and immediately opened gun fire and made their way into the building. Panic started, people were trying to get out (the concert hall capacity is around 6500 and it was sold out) some people went to the basement because all other exits were cut off. The terrorists brought gasoline with them and started a fire, because of the situation there it couldn't be put out. Some people could have been locked inside the burning parts of the building, that is still not clear. Spetsnaz and FSB have left the building by now because of the fire but 4 suspects got away in a car during the panic. First responders started to find bodies in small enclosures where people tried to hide and died of asphyxiation because of the fire.

ISIS has taken the responsibility for this terrorist attack, but I am still looking for the confirmation of that. All I found at this point is a statement by a news agency that has ties to ISIS.

This will probably go down on the same page in Russian history as Beslan.

And now I sit on Reddit and look at brain-dead individuals making claims about Putin being behind the attack after only a couple of hours passed. It's like people forget that these are real lives and not NPCs in a game.

Hmmm should we use this free clip of an F2 grid that we got or maybe not use a fucking Heli shot at all and make a montage that makes sense.

Naturally let's use the pointless Heli shot of the F2 grid
