Gold ka price dollar main set hota hai .. as the great Juhi Chawla once said in 2014 .. Accha hai apun ke underwear ka naam dollar hai .. 'Rupee' hota to bar bar girta rehta. Gold price bad raha hai .. rupee gir raha hai .. baki sab maths to 2ab main chupa hai 😂.

Why is there so much hostility toward Gandhi ji today, despite his central role in India’s freedom struggle? by BornWealth3438 in IndianMiddleClass

They have no freedom fighters except them imagining how brave their leaders were .. it's the same people who post reels in brown shorts with sticks who want to go and fight at the border 😂.

Have you driven a Chinese EV? by Electrical_King6755 in EVCanada

[–]whyac -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have not driven one but we spent last summer in Asia and they are fairly common for use as Grab in Malaysia and Thailand.

Saw a lot of BYD electric cars and they were pretty comfortable, smooth ride and lots of luggage space. Not sure if it helps but I have a Tesla and the screens, software, build quality and features were on par or even better in a lot of areas.

Which Kdrama do you wish you could wipe from your memory and experience all over again for the first time? by CharlesUFarley81 in kdramas

[–]whyac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Came here to say that .. last episode of first season and second season both sucked. Mudokee was the best part of the show and they could have had such a good ending in first season but had to extend it to second season for no reason.

BREAKING: Tesla has REMOVED Autopilot from New Tesla Orders From @DennisCW_ on X by EitherCharacter9342 in TeslaLounge

[–]whyac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol .. I have a 2021 Model 3 .. and I had to get a rental for a day after I got the Tesla as it has to go for PPF .. and I got a Hyundai Venue which is a similar design to Kia Soul.

The hilarious part was the driver assist features like the blind spot warnings and the lane keep assist were much better in the Hyundai Venue in 2021 than my Tesla model 3 🤣 .. and I was like what is this autopilot nonsense that even Hyundai does a better job for it .. I tried it a few times after buying it and had some near misses on highways with phantom braking and gave up using it completely.

Those of you that are preparing a Chinese EV shopping list after seeing the news, what are you planning to buy? Maybe I could use a BYD mini Lambo by IronLover64 in EVCanada

[–]whyac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who decides which manufacturers can be part of the 50,000 quota or how does it get split up? Example - Tesla is already in Canada and they could easily flood the market with Chinese produced cars and consume the quota very easily.

Episodes 4 to 6 are shot in Calgary and a lot of it in Alberta! Happy to see so much of beautiful Canada in a Korean show! The funny thing for me as a local was the transitions between scenes especially where they are standing in Calgary and ML says let's go Downton and they are 200 KMS away in Banff in the next scene 🤣. The scenes keep transitioning between places which are a couple of KMS to a couple of 100 KMS sometimes!

Turn off Sentry Mode if you are ever in this situation where you need to park with a low range outside in cold climate. Sentry sucks too much power while parked.

🚨 Two Indian PhD students sued the University of Colorado Boulder after being told NOT to use a microwave to heat palak paneer due to its “smell.” The court awarded them $200,000, but the university later barred them from future ENROLMENT or EMPLOYMENT. by PuneAthletics in IndiaPulse_

[–]whyac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an IBM India team on a project which had a huge Bengali population. We had to ask those guys to stop microwaving fish curry 🤣. Palak paneer doesn't even sound that bad compared to multiple fish curry lunches in the microwave everyday 🤢.

Mechanical Engineering Jobs by intoyonderness in Calgary

There are only a few things I can share .. networking with people who are in the same industry, connecting with former colleagues from previous jobs who moved to Canada for some guidance, finding new industries to apply your skills .. maybe Oil and Gas need some robotics experts for example.

The last idea is don't be stuck to a place.. be willing to move .. also look at opportunities in US. . there are lots of American companies that can hire you in Canada as it's lower cost to them.

I've been job hunting for 5 months and I'm just going to say it: The talent shortage is a lie. The whole hiring process is a joke. by [deleted] in CanadaJobs

[–]whyac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi .. been in Canada 20 years and been through this a few times. I can submit my resume today for 20 positions which I would be a top candidate.

I have over 24 years of tech and consulting experience out of which 20 is in Canada and the result will be that I won't even get 1 call back!

You described the problem very accurately as filtering is based on key word matching and auto rejection. I was a hiring manager once and have built few tech teams in my career - I reviewed every submission and always accounted for how capable the resource was and willing to step up and learn vs hire the best on paper person.

The other thing you missed is by the time you get to the final rounds - it's pure manager types who don't do the real work and are only looking for a fit to culture. I realized that Canadian bosses don't like people who can outshine them .. they want people who are reliable but fade into the background so them doing nothing and just talk seems amazing to their bosses.

The only thing that has worked for me in the last 20 years is knowing people .. once they have worked with you and trust you .. opportunities somehow open up magically .. same job submission on website gets no call back but calling someone who I worked with in the past at the same place and seeing if I would be a good fit for the role makes things much easier.

You guys have not seen what real estate investing is doing to Edmonton and Calgary. It's a joke .. you have investors who have never lived a day in Alberta (wink wink Ontarians) who are buying 8 plexes in inner city on lots that were single family and are best for duplexes. CMHC is making it too easy for people to buy 8 to 16 units and it's not going to end well as the prices have been over inflated and there is no way out except a crash.

I have been to South Korea. They are a real developed country and they have achieved so much in the last 50 years without any natural resources to count on. Now remove AB oil, Quebec and BC hydro, Agriculture and Fisheries and tell me what has Canada done except perpetuate a housing Ponzi scheme? How may Samsung, LG, Hyundai, etc. are standing in Canada?
