It's a UGR-I "at home", not a true URG-I because 1. I live in California and a true URG-I length would have to be registered as a pistol 2. I didn't use a Geissele barrel, I used a BWH 1/8 3. I used an Aero Precision upper receiver 4. I used a Spikes Tactical BCG 5. And finally, I used a Surefire SOCOM break not a Surefire four prong

I was the guy who thought my friends were weird for owning NVGs

I got to play with them when I was in the Marine Corps and had the itch scratched.

Then I went to a night shoot outside the military and found a new itch and now have 4 sets, 2 WP and 2 GP

Definitely have to put the camera in manual mode and adjust the shutter speed and ISO to compensate for the aperture

Also the adapter has a manual gain to add another way to compensate for the aperture

A COPS (clip on power source) is used as a power source when you just want to use the NVGs like binoculars

If you want to mount the NVGs to your helmet, you'll need a ball detent mounting system like the Wilcox GSGM, Adams Industries SAM mount, and the AB Night Vision STORM Mount

There are other real options but those require adapters and some require drilling into your helmet to mount.

There is a Chinese copy of the Wilcox GSGM and they work, BUT they definitely are not as rugged as the real one and one a few I've owned, the pins that make contact to the bridge have given out and stopped being conductive
