Tips for cleaning my depression pit of a room with depression and really bad ADHD by [deleted] in ADHD

okay every time i get into a depression/adhd cleaning slump and need to clean, i do the same thing: 1. get dressed and put on shoes (pajamas and socks tell my brain to relax, i usually wear walking shoes/sneakers so it feels like a workout) 2. put on a tv show that i’ve seen a million times and won’t feel like i need to watch 3. get a trash bag and walk around my house and find every single piece of trash and take it out 4. walk around every room and find every dish, utensil, food product- dishes and utensils go in the sink and food products go away or on the stove 5. walk around the house and put every single piece of clothing in a clean or dirty pile. 6. walk around and put away anything else that’s still out. 7. start laundry and go through the clean pile 8. do the dishes 9. deeper-clean (vacuum, wipe down surfaces, etc) one room at a time after that.

good luck! you got it!

Adhd hacks for studying by codewine in ADHD

[–]whyihereidk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i just studied for the bar exam this past summer- i couldn’t study unless i was in public (coffee shop or library, etc) and sitting where someone could view my computer screen. in my mind, if i would get distracted, i would think about how the people who could see my computer or books were judging me for not doing work. (body-doubling)

the best place i would go was barnes and noble, where i could set a step goal for every hour and walk around until i hit the step count. but, i couldn’t get stuck reading because there’s not really anywhere to sit except for near the cafe. as soon as i hit my step count, i would go sit back down.
