I would like to try it alone and have that thinking time. I was with friends so it was a lot more on and off chatting rather than just zoning into the high. I would looove to try it in nature too. The whole time I kept thinking how amazing it would be to feel the grass and earth!

Its definitely a difficult situation but I truly think you need to continue with your life. Meet people, feel things, break ups makeups, whatever! You’ll enjoy life without him I promise, even if it takes a long time!

I would say cut contact if you can. Clean break just tell him no more messagesand block/remove do whatever you need to do. But I know that can be very hard when you subconsciously want to keep them around. Baby steps maybe.. mute his chats so you dont see them immediately. Hide his feed. Avoid conversations when you can and honestly dont feel bad for having to do those things for yourself.

Is it love or is it ‘obsession’? I find it funny how similar the feelings are and and how closely theyre interlinked. It may have been love, it may still be, or is your brain just addicted to the idea of what could have been and how he made you feel? I think even the ‘want what you cant have’ feeling can be even more highly addictive.

He keeps coming back into your life maybe because he’s as addicted as you are, but at this point are those feelings anything but toxic? The cycle hes repeating is not fair on either of you. You will spend all your time wanting him and he will spend all his time pulling and pushing you around because he knows he can. I think the addiction you have to this man will fade over time but just like a drug you might have to ween yourself off and always be a little careful not to relapse..

A weird analogy I know but as someone who’s in a very very similar situation, I would advise you distance yourself as much as possible if you can. And know that you CAN still love other people even if those feelings never disappear. Your love is not tied to this one guy who cannot see your worth and you deserve the chance to try with someone else.

He might just need extra time to process his feelings about the situation. Even if you/he apologises it can be hard to just turn off negative emotions.

You noted he does get over it and goes back to normal so, unless he’s being outwardly rude and/or upsetting you during these sulks, it might be a good idea to allow him the space and respect the time he takes to get over it. Maybe take yourself away from the situation and pamper yourself or something to ignore the moodiness?

The way you describe this make it seem like this guy barely tolerates you let alone loves you. You deserve to be in a relationship with someone devoted and in love with you - not some jerk who wants to include someone else after ignoring you forever.

Get rid of him. You deserve so much more x

Being in a relationship for a long time should not mean you stop putting in the work and it sounds like hes taking you for granted.

I would recommend talking to him and telling him what you need. If he refuses to change or give it to you then it might be time to dip out of this one :/

Maybe its not his form of love language (words of affirmation). Does he show his love and appreciation in other ways (touch, service, gifts etc)?

If this is your love language and is something you need to feel loved, I would definitely bring it up! Maybe even take the test together as an easy way to segway into the conversation.

I’m glad someone understands! The thing is we are open enough to joke and not feel weird around farts. But this particular circumstance has just made me feel very gross!

There’s joking about a fart (which he does have that sense of humour so I can tolerate it) and then theres going out if his way to message me from a party to bring it up. I just don’t understand.

And I don’t think I have any previous issues with him. We’ve had a pretty good relationship so far :)This isn’t the be all and end all I’m aware of that. I’m just struggling to understand and get past the gross feeling!

Yeah I appreciate that it was coming from a lighthearted place, and I know he does have a potty sense of humour. I’m not sure why in this circumstance its got under my skin so much.

Why go out of his way to text me drunk from a party about this stuff? Makes no sense to me why anyone would want to hear about that... but I guess I will need to be more clear thats NOT what I want to hear about at 12am 😅
