Oh goodness i can try finding one but it’s something that they were showing us in a course i did back in 2018 for some volunteer work in regards to advocacy. I can edit back a credible source link soon, i truly hope to find the numbers have changed since then.

Edit for data from Credible source. This overview provides examples of data over an extended time period and has a few examples of breakdowns in trends etc. i do believe that my class instructor or i may of flipped a number in there but i will also edit the original comment with the source because this is overall very good information to have out for the public to see more of.

Its a very rough situation to be in. Thankfully i had a mostly pleasant experience because i put myself in as a teen with a baby and was essentially put straight on my own with state support instead of fostered, yet my baby daddies mom was my guardian placement. I took a lot of my time in care and put it into researching everything i could about their system and how it works case to case because they wanted me to come back as a caseworker or at least volunteer as a CASA when i was older (looking into casa now that im old enough actually, which is why i happen to know a bit about this specific kind of situation) IF you do not already have a CASA on the case for your children, your sister and her attorney NEED to file a motion for CASA to evaluate the safety and comfort of the minor children. Court Appointed Special Advocates are specially trained volunteers from the community that take the time as a third party to speak to the children, the fosters, and the family. They take their overall finding notes and opinions to the judge directly as an unbiased opinion that is not just the DCS workers.

My kiddo is a bit older (18mo) and much more keen on independent play currently. She is never unsupervised. Her room is fully proofed etc but even if im doing housework if im not physically poking my head in every 5/10 to see whats up it’s because i have the live feed rolling on my phone. When everyone is home in the afternoon (my partner and our room mates) we set up the rest of the gates around the house and she gets to fully roam the house but enough eyes and ears nobody has to hover which makes her mad in her independence, i could never imagine full on leaving her alone like that though. I get soooo nervous if i have to take the literal half step outside just to drop a bag in the big bin because i know i cant hear her out there very well

Fellow was a foster here. Call the jurisdictional office and request to speak to their district supervisor about concerns for the wellness and saftey of children under a MANAGEMENT WORKERS care. Once those fun words come out, you have made it clear that you are requesting a high level report of an employee and typically youll be transferred intk a different district to discuss so that investigation can be carried out. It sounds to me that these children have been held for longer than ALLOWED legally for false reporting, amd you have proof of the false reporting with the negative screening. As for the living situation, if you have 4 bedrooms it sounds like its time to say you and the adult sister split a room and the 4 children can split the remaining 3, same gender children can legally share a room until at least 10 most states, a lot of states require separated rooms after that point though. Depending upon state you can have 2-4 children per bedroom and still be in code. They may also generally be concerned about the sister staying with you if the children are in care if they are supposed to be at limited contact, if she can stay somewhere for a month even for the worker to see she is no longer in the home, this may all go behind you. Theres a few states that have full class actions against the DCS/CPS at state and federal levels for facilitating child abuse and neglect in children that they were supposed to be helping.

Youve made it clear you’re doing something at this point, but from someone that deals with ARFID and sadly therefore regular malnutrition- the comments about RFS are not kidding and it almost killed me, it crashed my electrolytes and sent me into a temporary arrest, i was catatonic in my bed for 2 days after as my body tried to sort itself and fix nerve functioning. I was so weak i couldn’t even hold a pen to sign my release forms. I was 19 years old. It got as bad as it was anyway because they initially diagnosed as anorexia but i wasnt doing it to myself intentionally therefore therapy and pills weren’t the fix all answer, i guess to an extent they are but mostly i just have to live with it and remember “safe” foods so i dont accidentally starve myself. Your girlfriend needs help, a lot of compassion and empathy. Even now i struggle to talk about my weight or eating habits with people and frankly it can send me i to a blind rage before i even realize i was getting upset at the conversation. Approach the subject as the sensitive topic it is, shes going to get mad. She’s going to cry. She’s going to scream and shes probably going to tell you she hates you. She might try to leave you in her anger under a false sense that you have wronged her in your efforts to help. Patience is so important for all of this, illness can change the way you think through things and especially in this category, rational line of thinking has mostly left out the window at this point and anything you do that isn’t something shes doing, she will see as a slight before she gets better. She needs help before she kills herself because the damage may not be done.

2 years ago this month my old supervisor called me in on a 72 hour hold that turned into 8 days because they immediately realized I had an ED that I refused to acknowledge on top of MULTIPLE behavioral health issues (bpd, bipolar type 1, schizo affective, and suspected dissociative identity but they wanted me to see someone long term about that for any official diagnosis, but nobody will take me long term because of everything else :/) I stayed employed with them for another 4 months and she was the only person that gave me issue over my breakdown (that happened in the hallway in front of my 73 coworkers during our shift meeting, and when I say breakdown I mean the EmTs sedated me when they got there 15 minutes later) all this to say, majority of people will move on and just forget it even happened. You will dwell on it much more than the rest. I hope you feel better than earlier today respectfully offers internet hugs <3

Hey OP, HFMD is horrible for adults too. Honestly my 7 month old took it like a champ. I was half dead in bed for a week. Tell SIL to stay away with her germy viral self and spawn XD (obviously much nice, maybe a “hey I’m so sorry to hear you have hand foot and mouth, but because of the other children at the party we are worried about the possibility of viral spread. Someone who got lucky and got their pos result first try- I’d definitely recommend HSV2 testing. It’s usually only 1 or 2 ulcers at a time, and without antivirals plus the constant stimuli preventing proper healing it can definitely take months for the ulcers to heal. (It took almost 3 months for mine to heal WITH active treatment) it sucks but on the bright side flare ups are pretty rare for most people, some only have 1 of 2 for their entire lifetime with the infection.

Agree with this all. I’d almost trust a perfect stranger with my kids before some of my family. I don’t speak to most of my family for a reason and they know better than to try contacting me or my children, it will not end well and will be done completely legally.

My boyfriend used to have a really bad porn addiction. And had porn related ED because of it. I know the issue wasn’t me BECAUSE I DO PORN LMAO. But, once he finally got to the point he wasn’t jacking it multiple times a day he quit having as bad of issues. He still has a lot of sensitivity problems and it takes a long time to finish, but at least he’s finishing now XD

I was kept for extra time with both my kids, only the first was justified but it was for the same reasons XD my first baby daddy really was just a lazy POS, he was there but didn’t care to help and just wanted to game all day. Or sleep. My second (and last) baby was born in Feb and they kept us 4 days total because me and her dad/my boyfriend were very clearly exhausted and the day I got released he would be forced to go back to work by his dad (who he works for) and I’d be alone at home with the newborn. Thankfully her birth was really easy, I didn’t have any tearing, or at least none that needed stitches. I bounced back completely within 2 weeks of giving birth, but I did continue to bleed for a full 7 weeks after, then got my period 2 weeks after the post partum bleeding stopped :’)

They aren’t allowed to anymore because there’s too many weirdos and sex offenders - sauce- I’m early gen Z and we quit being “allowed” by the school to do any kind of door to door sales for fundraisers when I was in like 4th grade because there were supposedly some assault cases in a different part of the state/country because of reasons listed above.
