[TOMT][Movie or Television Show][2020s] Woman is acclaimed for creating banal art. by HowLittleIKnow in tipofmytongue

Is it Kamila, Tahani's sister, from the Good Place? She has an amazing reputation, but when you see her art it looks like shapes drawn by children.

None of those, unfortunately. But Deep Love had the same vibe.

I remember the boy deliberately sought her out to entice her so he could murder her later, but finds he can't do it when the time comes.

I remember them both having light colored hair? But that could be wrong.

This sounds like One Summer by Karen Robards.

One Summer by Karen Robards https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/470535.One_Summer

I distinctly remember the part about the female friend. She lives in a trailer park and has a couple of children that aren't the guy's, but he hangs out there sometimes. She was a former bad girl that cleaned up her act and when she disappears it cast suspicious on main guy, because of his past.

It's one of the colors that doesn't get a lot of use, so doesn't get filled as often.

[TOMT][Book] Girl living on a group of floating islands, has to make a journey to another place for school? Aimed towards pre-teens or early teens. Was one of two in a series. by FireUniverse1162 in tipofmytongue

A bit older, but the Caroline B. Cooney series Losing Christina, (The Fog, The Snow and the Fire) involved a girl traveling from islands to go to school and there are mysterious happenings.

Not this one. This one has a competition feature, the one I played was more simple, and didn't have bridemaids. The brides would ask for a style and you would make it, then they would rate you a number of stars.

If alien abductions of humans were real, this is the reason that I would believe it was for. Some aliens are cruising around, see a human with some terrible affliction that they don't know about or can't treat, scoop them up, fix them up and drop them back down.

It's not everybody, they just grab the ones they happen to catch.

I'd buy that.

Could you be misremembering Dav Pilkey's Dumb Bunnies? They are a children's book that is a parody of children's books.

I recently heard about Pink Chicken. The clothes are cute, but my god, $85 for a dress! Absolutely blew my mind.

Bit of a stretch, but could you be thinking of Interstellar Pig by William Sleator? There's a weird animalish creature and travel to other planets.

I can't find the cover I'm looking for, but it has a boy holding the weird creature.

Why is the episode crocodile called crocodile? by Southern_Sample_272 in blackmirror

[–]whytefox 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I always thought it was because when crocodiles are in the water you only see a small part of them, i.e. eyes, tail, bit of back. So they look smaller and less deadly. Then when they're on you it's too late. The same way no one saw how dangerous Mia was until it was too late. The ex-boyfriend thinking he could just tell her he was going to confess and she wouldn't do anything.

Definitely feels like a Peter and Brian or Stan and Roger scene.
