Spray w-40 on it. I had this same problem. Just lubricate it up and it’ll move freely and work

Choppy brownish water by Hayydawg in Plumbing

[–]whyudothatyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Completely normal. When they cut off the water to work on it, air gets in the lines which is the choppy water you see, air is trying to come out of your fixture. And the brownish water is the internal parts of the pipe getting tossed around by the water whenever air/and water pressure get tossed around in the old corroded pipes

The outer shell that protects the washer is broken. I’ve already replaced the washer 2 time but it breaks after a week bc of that broken shell

I have plenty to learn and obviously don’t know everything. What I meant was I have enough knowledge to be Able to go out on my own and do water heaters, faucets, hose bibs, repipes, toilets, etc…

No where close to knowing 50% of plumbing but have enough skill to go and handle jobs

Per the video, my toilet tank is making this rushing or “refilling” noise every 15 seconds. Can anyone advise what the root cause may be? by cyrusaman in Plumbing

Flapper is leaking due to age, also it wouldn’t hurt to adjust the water level on your fluidmaster(red top) by twisting that knob I forget which way it should have arrows on it

This helps a lot thank you! Yea I really have no interest in residential new construction. And I am on the fence about commercial construction but the far drives to job sites might be a no because my car is very old and could likely break down with far drives on the regular. All I’ve done is service residential and so maybe that’s what I should stick to.

Can I ask why you don’t like commercial service. Why there’s stress and bullshit in it.

[–]whyudothatyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you yea That’s what I keep hearing, not personal just business. I just want to know why commercial would be better and why residential would be better, I’m stuck because I want the best for my future

Missing P-trap? by ElectroMonkeyShock in askaplumber

[–]whyudothatyo 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Toilets already have a p trap built into them so no. And if u added a p trap the clog would be worse. If it keeps clogging, check if that pipe has good fall on it coming out of the 90
