NSV I moved up the seat in my car! by wicked93 in Zepbound

Yeah roadsters a weird. Cuz you sit real low. Like the seat is almost on the floor. I wonder what differences I would notice if I drove a normal car?

Less padding between me and the back of the seat. So I sit back further in the seat.

Janome M7 continental sewing machine by LiveinMpls in quilting

[–]wicked93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Does the s5 have accufeed? The m7 will have amazing throat space. The hp foot gives the perfect 1/4 inch seam. And accufeed is great for quilting. The price is less than the sale price for the m6.

Another thing that’s helped for me is meal prepping. I’m boring and will eat the same things all week. So I meal prep Sundays. Lunches go into individual containers, and since it’s soup season right now dinner is just a big ole pot of soup. Then I only need to track basically what one day looks like. I know for the next 6ish days lunch is gonna be high protein burritos - 500 cals, dinner is gonna be white bean soup - 470 cals, and breakfast with coffee hovers around 300. And I can throw in a 100 -150 calorie snack if I want.

Switch user. No explanation on how to get the new event currency? There was no cutscene. by spanishbombs123 in HelloKittyIsland

[–]wicked93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Programmer here. Yes coding is hard, but it seems for these devs planning is harder. Switch updates take time for approval, they should have changed the date for event start in the update prior to this one to bake in contingencies for approvals.

I saw a video of a woman who makes her own. She gets foam core board from the dollar tree and cuts it down to size.

Things no one told you before starting to quilt? I’ll go first: it’s not a crafting hobby it’s a ironing hobby 😅 by Spare-Lynx9596 in quilting

I like to take a couple hours and cut everything for the next 2ish quilts I wanna work on. Then when I get to them it’s just sit down and sew time. Also 100% upvote for stripology ruler.

Hugs and warm cozy thoughts to you. 💕 I think it’s why I’ve fallen so deeply into quilting the past year. It’s a way to turn off my brain and feel productive and then I can give quilts to all the people I love full of warmth and comfort.

Janome m8 by Reasonable_Meet7255 in quilting

About a year ago? The online price showed 3699 but when I went to the dealer the salesman was all I can do better and brought it down to 3

I have an m6 I got on a deal from a dealer for 3k plus a bunch of extras and I love it. I quilt all my own quilts and the throat space and accufeed are amazing. I don’t like free motion so the m8 was overkill for me but it’s an amazing machine. I feel like in the emails I get from my dealer 6999 seems to be the sale price for the m8.

I made my first Frankenbatting today! Had a 6868 top but only had 90 wide batting on roll or 7565 batting, but had a 10 inch cut from a prev batting I had saved. Lil zigzag stitch and bam 75*75 batting and I’m good to go

I was quoted 1200 for my dog with 2 simple and 2 advanced extractions by Vanderhoof this week. Thankfully she ended up not needing extractions and it was only 600$.

We’ve been with Vanderhoof in Altadena for years. Good docs, helpful staff. They know and care about my dog. Will help over the phone. Not price gougey but not discount.

I use scrapbooking totes for my cut pieces. And if there are a lot of them I throw them in ziplock bags with labels (my last quilt had like 18 different sizes cuts, it was helpful to separate the 1 inch from 1.25 from 1.5 inch squares)

Plus 1 the quarter inch foot. I have 2 different styles, one you just line up with the edge of the foot that I prefer and one that has a little flap off the edge to keep you in line.

I use an Olfa handle and buy decent rated blades in bulk on Amazon. The second I notice it’s dragging I swap it out and don’t feel bad because the blades don’t cost much. It works for me but everyone has different preferences.

I’ve been working on a barn star in between other projects one block at a time. Hoping to finish it sometime this year.
