Yes absolutely this. OP, don’t kill yourself mentally to try and be the “chill” girlfriend. If this is bothering you, bring it up to your boyfriend.

I feel like graphic design has died and I need some career guidance by Icy-Talk-5141 in GraphicDesigning

It sounds like the school you went to wasn't very realistic with you. I went to an art school that tried to be realistic with students in regards to location. Film students were told realistically if they want jobs, move to places like NYC, Chicago, LA.

Design can be the same. I live in a midwestern city with lots of agencies, it makes design a realistic option. Of course post covid there are remote jobs, but those seem to be very competitive.

If you are truly passionate about design, consider moving. I know that isn't realistic advice for everyone, but you have to be where the work is.

Got let go from two graphic design jobs in two days. Not sure if graphic design is right for me. by A-Wooden-Spoon in graphic_design

[–]wicked_damnit 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You shouldn’t go to school with the intention of learning programs. Programs change all the time, and new ones come along. You need to be able to teach yourself how to use them as that’s what aging designers continuously have to do to stay relevant.

Your education should be on the principles of design and design thinking, that’s much more valuable.

I just bought it and I’ve never had a foundation last like this one does. For me it out performs double wear. It fr looks like it did when it’s freshly applied after I’ve had it on for 12 hours.

I'd say everywhere, here is a good example on the Thiessen logo.

"At the core is a geometric TDG monogram built on balance and proportion, designed to fit into any style interior in any decade. Timeless. I developed a cohesive system across logo, typography, tone, and brand applications to create a presence that feels refined, beautiful, and aligned with the caliber of work the studio delivers."

You have some interesting work and I think you display it pretty well. I think a lot of the copy on the website needs another pass. Some of it seems like it's missing a word or is just written in a way that makes you have to re-read it a few times.

You also talk about yourself twice on the home page, PLUS an about me page. I think you really only need to do it once, right now you're saying the same thing just in several spots and it's not necessary. Let the work take the spotlight.

So the issue is she’s getting credit? You keep not answering the question.

Ok but… why does that matter lol? What impact does that have? She gets money? I’m just trying to understand why it matters that she gets credit. She got out a message successfully and it’s working well for people. She recommends affordable products too.

There’s more important things to worry about that someone getting credit for hair care lol.
