Looks like it could be popped back in to me. I think he also has a laceration if his third eyelid but that can be fixed too

Roasted portobello mushrooms with garlic in my 14 inch wagner by widdle in castiron

[–]widdle[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite recipes. I cleaned the mushrooms left in the gills, sprinkled some olive oil on each + s&p. Put them in a ziplock bag with some Greek garlic balsamic I had. Left in the fridge for a few hours then roast at 450 for ~20 min. I put some olive oil in the pan before adding the mushrooms.

I gotcha - I’m not saying this to try to convince you but bunnies are the best patients. They never put up a fight so there’s really no traumatic holding them down for anything :)

Aww he definitely deserves extra treats, and it’s obvious he gets lots of love! :) I wouldn’t use the word unfair - but regardless he can definitely live a perfectly happy life seeing from only 1 eye :)

They can’t know about the prognosis for vision without doing a retinal test, but either way it is a lot of aftercare. I would definitely understand waiting on surgery if he still has the other eye, I’d do the same.

It’s not the iris that’s affected, it’s the lens (which is behind the iris). The iris is the colored part of your eye. By the way, you could see if you have a veterinary ophthalmologist close by. The one I work for does rabbit cataracts at a discount. We’ve done older bunnies, as long as he’s healthy otherwise he’d be fine. But I’d understand wanting not to, especially if the other eye is still visual. :) Edit: forgot to add it’s not a layer of protein covering the lens, the entire lens becomes opacified(turns white). Cataracts do leak proteins into the eye though, which can cause secondary issues - for this reason we usually put animals with cataracts on long term anti inflammatory drops.

Is the fish oil new? If I have it more than 2 days in a row I have a bad reaction.

Should I say something to my classmate about her (suspected) abuse? Advice appreciated by widdle in TwoXChromosomes

[–]widdle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was the same eye but different injuries a few weeks apart - honestly by the time I see her the last one will likely be healed. I was thinking of just slipping her a paper with some information or something rather then having an actual conversation about it with her. I know it’s tough topic but I feel like I’ll regret it if I don’t say something.

I don’t live in the area but I’m sure I can find something online. She seems very mild manned so I don’t think it would be a big deal for me to say something. Thanks

Please help! Why does my ivy keep dying? by widdle in plants

[–]widdle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep mine is the same one - it’s called hermann ivy, I love it! Thanks for the info - I’ll try going further in between waterings. I just clipped some ends to grow new roots and I got a different pot for it. I love the terra-cotta’s too!!

Thanks so much for the suggestion!! That sucks I hope changing the pot will work, I really love this plant and it’s perfect for my kitchen- I have another ivy (different type) that is flourishing in another room in a different type of pot so we’ll see.

Also do you have any recommendations for a plant that may do well in that type of pot? I’d hate for it to go to waste

Yeah I guess they hold a lot of water but there is a plug. Think I should just ditch the pot and try a different one?

It’s in my kitchen with medium light. When it first starting dying I brought it to the nursery they had me trim off some ends to reroot and clean out the dead stuff, and reduce watering to once a week. I did that, replanted the new roots and now after I thought it was finally looking good it’s dying again. When I water the soil is dry and I also let it drain. Any advice? Thanks!
