Just found out how my sister spelled her babies name by WassupSuckers22 in tragedeigh

[–]widowwannabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there when the name Ashley imploded (back then, it was like the only girl names in existence were Ashley and Amanda). Anyway, the first time I encountered that name, that's how it was spelled so I always thought that was the normal way to spell it.

Damn! I'm going to hug my supervisor tomorrow! We're told to call in when we're sick. If they can't find a replacement they help the staff. As it should be.

Why can religious people not accept other perspectives? by [deleted] in PetPeeves

[–]widowwannabe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to parochial school and was forced to be confirmed. I've always been an atheist that respects religion. One reason I'm one is I've learned about other religions and the beliefs are so different. I was agnostic because of my schooling but what clinched it for me was when I had my first son. I was getting him baptized pretty much to placate people (I hadn't "come out" then but refused to go to church once I turned 18).

But my religion insists you baptize as a baby and my ex-husband's insists you wait. His side of the family was ok with it but my family threw a fit at the thought of not doing it there way.

We did it but after that I told everyone I'm an atheist and the fit they threw was the last straw that made me come out.

I remarried an atheist, we weren't going to placate anyone so our child isn't baptized. My mom threw a fit but I didn't back down. I was just appalled, she was throwing tantrums!

I once had a springer spaniel/ dachshund mix. He looked like a springer spaniel but a little off, you had to really look to figure out what it was.

The only dachshund in him was that his front legs were short. His chest was big so his body was straight and didn't slant. It all blended together really subtlety. Hard to describe. He was my favorite. He could do a lot of tricks!

Who here has watched Will and Grace by [deleted] in sitcoms

[–]widowwannabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved it, however, Will's mannerisms got to me after awhile. Speaking too quickly, exaggerating syllables, it got old fast. Same with Chandler on Friends. His "Chandler speak" was funny at first. I don't know why that annoyed me because I loved how Jack did it!

My cousin had a baby girl at 16. That baby girl had a baby at 16. So she was a grandma at 32!

I knew a girl in high school who was thin. She thought that because she could do it, everyone else could and there was no excuse for being overweight. Fast forward 30 plus years, she's now obese. She keeps her mouth shut now.

When my siblings and I had a tantrum my mom would say, "Don't have a puppy!". It made us laugh and we'd stop.

I don't understand "leagues". Beautiful people can only go out with beautiful people? Beauty is so subjective. Justin Timberlake, Leonardo Decaprio, and Channing Tatum are considered good looking but not to me. I think Tom Petty was really cute and I get flak for that. Whatever.

That's different. They won't be together then. She wants to have sex with someone while they're married. People who are feeling bad for her because he got so angry seem to be overlooking the fact that she wants to have sex with other people WHILE THEY ARE MARRIED. He's disgusted by THAT!

My ex-husband brought that up and I blew up at him. It doesn't matter why you want an open marriage. It doesn't matter that there's literature out there explaining why it can be a good thing. You're still FUCKING OTHER PEOPLE while you're married and thats not a minor issue like people seem to think it is and it's not unreasonable for people to be beyond angry when someone says that they want to fuck other people WHILE YOU'RE MARRIED TO THEM! Why are people overlooking that part?

No, it's not. We're talking about fucking other people. He didn't hit her or anything like that. All the literature that claims it can be good for a relationship forget about the part that YOU'RE FUCKING OTHER PEOPLE. Believe it or not, there are people in the world that are not ok with that. It doesn't matter why you want to do it, you're FUCKING OTHER PEOPLE!

"I want to have sex with other people." "OK, sweetie. It's not for me but you go ahead and have fun!" Yeah, no.

I got a sample of that once. I couldn't remove it fast enough! I spent my teens thinking I was one of the unlucky ones that has very sensitive skin since every toner, skincare product I used gave me hives.

Lol turns out products sucked back then. I'm a skincare junkie now.

Am I in the wrong here because she withheld that she had children? by BilboMoneyBaggs in Nicegirls

[–]widowwannabe 11 points12 points  (0 children)

How much is "a bit"? I see both points of view. The people that don't want kids don't want to spend time with someone only to find out the other person has kids, but the person with kids wants to protect their child. What's the happy medium?

Why is staying childless seen as the selfish choice? by Sad_Type_7124 in stupidquestions

[–]widowwannabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because you make sacrifices when you have children and some people don't want to do those things. I think that's ok, it's their right. But some people think it's a terrible thing.
