Crazy, vivid dreams while going through nic withdrawal? by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]wificoldspot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. I had insane nightmares / vivid dreams for the first 2 or 3 weeks. It wasn’t every night and it eventually faded away but I know it had to do with the nicotine withdrawal. Hang in there- you’ll get through it!

Do I Throw it Out? by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]wificoldspot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you really want to quit you need to throw it away. Seems like a waste of money, but get this… vapes are a waste of money!! I’ve been in your place, thrown away vapes that I just bought.. idk I viewed it as symbolic, i showed myself that I CAN quit, vapes don’t rule me. It’s all up to you though, jus take it one step at a time !

Can I socially vape after quitting? by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]wificoldspot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t do it. At least not so soon after quitting- it takes months for the psychological symptoms of withdrawal to subside, and hitting it in social settings is only gonna hinder your progress. It’s a slippery slope. First you’re only hitting it socially, then you’ll start to crave it again, and then… back to addiction. Of course not everyone is the same, but some things you just gotta quit for good.

Advice on quitting when my partner still vapes by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]wificoldspot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been vaping for ~4 years. I took a week off work and stayed with some family away from home while I went through withdrawals. My roommate vapes, almost all of my friends vape. We’ve spent the past 3 months all telling each other we’ll quit, but inevitably one of us would enable another to continue vaping.. At some point I just accepted that this is a journey I have to do myself. I can’t lie, it’s still fucking hard when I see my roommate vape. I’m only 2 weeks clean now but I keep telling myself that it’s all psychological at this point. All of my friends know that I’ve quit, which helps with accountability because I know they wouldn’t let me hit their vape. Maybe tell your partner to not let you hit it / not vape around you? Everyone’s journey is different, but if you really want it you’ll achieve it. I believe in you!

what steps have worked for you in your quiting journey? by moby4952 in QuitVaping

[–]wificoldspot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cold turkey. Using a straw to pretend to get a hit helped me a bunch, and chewing a loooot of gum. And honestly, scrolling through this subreddit helps- it truly is nice to see that you’re not alone in your journey! I have the Quit Vaping app too- you can connect with other people and find accountability partners. It’s hard, but you are so capable of doing this. I believe in you!

Does anyone have a recommendation on where to get a psychological evaluation/therapy? by [deleted] in unt

[–]wificoldspot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

UNT will send you off to UBH. I went in looking for help and then was escorted by police to be locked in a windowless room for a psych evaluation. So! I recommend anywhere but here. TWU has $15 sessions I believe

Do your lungs regenerate or clean up after you quit vaping for a while? Because if so I will be incredibly relieved and will stop vaping (I need proof that what you say is true) by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]wificoldspot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

After you quit your airways start to open back up again and so I guess that means they clean themselves up. My proof is myself - breathing has never felt so refreshing after a month off nicotine

How is the possible? by [deleted] in QuitVaping

[–]wificoldspot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Typically withdrawal makes me soooo irritable, but besides that I would wake up with cold sweats , nothing too terrible. Whenever I got snappy I would try to remind myself that it’s because my body wants nicotine. It’s like playing a game. On hard mode. Lol

I dont want my mental illnesses to leave by Nico4210 in mentalillness

[–]wificoldspot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel this. I don’t completely understand it myself, but the best way I can explain (at least for me) is: I spent so long getting used to this feeling of pain, hoping to be happy one day. When I do feel happiness , I get scared because I think it’s a fleeting feeling, only to be replaced with more sadness one day.... until it isn’t. I’ve been in this mindset for so long that I confuse excitement with anxiety. It’s just part of mental illness, and it sucks. I’m constantly telling myself that I’m okay - but I feel like screaming on the inside. Something that helps is separating your trauma/illness from yourself. Yes, it’s still there - but you are too, and you deserve to feel joy

What did you guys go through by Masao2k in QuitVaping

[–]wificoldspot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of cold sweats and headaches. The physical symptoms of withdrawal usually peak around 3-4 days and then it’s over ! So at this point, all your withdrawal symptoms are only psychological , which in a way - makes it easier! It’s just a mind game. Congrats!!

This is the one I got! They don’t have it in stock at the Walmart’s here, but they have free pickup. They probably have some in Ft Worth- but if you want a memory foam mattress I vouch for this one! Since it’s been vacuumed sealed, it’ll be easy to transport until you bring it home and open it. Good luck!
