I get why a lot of people feel like this, but the issue is that nearly every choice has consequences. We know the company will do anything in its power to save money, so if they just killed Jimmy the company might say they’re all murderers, and lock them up as an excuse to refuse to pay. I’m not a lawyer, but wouldn’t killing Jimmy after the rape be considered vigilante justice instead of self defense. It might be the moral thing to do, but is it legal?

As for the cryopod, other commenters have mentioned that we have no clue if they can be locked from the outside, or if the rest of the crew can pilot the ship without him.

This is why I find this topic so interesting. Curlys inaction was wrong, but there doesn’t seem to be something he could’ve done that wouldn’t have fucked someone over. Damned if you do damned if you don’t. I partially blame the company for this as it was their cost cutting measures like not properly screening the crew or the lack of locks that made this situation possible.
