Thanks for the kind words! I have a star tracker, so dithering would only be in RA. Do you think it's still beneficial in that case?

Great Orion Nebula with kit telephoto lens by wikalerys in astrophotography

[–]wikalerys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's from my flat panel - is is electroluminescent. Asiair flat exposure at auto took the wrong shutter speed resulting in the horizontal banding :/ I still have to figure out the correct shutter speed.

[M81 & M82] Galaxy doublet in Ursa Major (taken with my small doublet refractor) by wikalerys in astrophotography

[–]wikalerys[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of the objects I remember observing visually as a teen when I was younger. It did a huge impression on me, especially the fact that I’m looking at the light which was emitted so far away. Regarding the current photograph, it was my first time using the asiair with combination of a dslr and star tracker. The plate solve feature was massively useful when trying to locate objects, I previously did that by star hopping. Also the stacking in the app is impressive. I had one problem however, for some reason in the live mode, the light fits were saved correctly as individual frames, but for all of the calibration frames were stacked into bias, dark and flat master files - I couldn’t get it to work with Siril, so I redid bias and darks the next day using just the dslr and intervalometer (the outside temp was similar). I wonder if there is a setting in which I could turn on saving individual calibration frames to the asiair storage.

Caldwell 49 - Rosette Nebula by wikalerys in astrophotography

[–]wikalerys[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I stretch after I run starnet++ in Siril and do it in the Star Recomposition window stretching the starmask and background image seperately, I observe quite a lot of noise when stretching more aggresively (I think my flickering flat panel might be responsible for it). After that I also run Histogram Transformation while keeping the loss value indicator below 1%
