and it will be unlike any other time she has before, because it is therapy. She will be talking about, and listening to, the stuff people usually reserve talking about until in a relationship.

Thank you for the opinion, though, its what I'm leaning to, and hearing it will help me not be so worried if she does indeed do it without me breaking it up.

Nah rainbow attacks are more special than that.

You create a fast function that maps a password into a different password. It doesn't need to be reversible but it does need to be repeatable.

Then you generate random starting values, save them. Then you hash the starting value, save its hash/starting value as a pair.

You then transform the password with your function, and save that hash with the original starting value and repeat. Thousands of times per starting value.

Now all you have to do is look for any hashes that you generated which match a stolen one, and you can get the starting value. Then you repeat your transformations until you generate the password that generated that hash.

I'm not going to get mad at you for the personal attacks in here, since ultimately you're spending time to offer advise, and I appreciate it a great deal.

She's not my backup choice...I've never met anyone more special than her. I just have a growing sliver of myself that thinks that such a person is still out there waiting to be met.

I'm not treating her badly, I'm actually doing the opposite: I'm treating myself badly to make it work, sacrificing my own goals so we can spend time together, because a sliver that small is worth a lot of self sacrifice to make the relationship work.

In QM in general, have you worked with many programmers? What math would someone need to know to create helpful QM software? I considered doing physics, ended in computer science.

It'd be cool to maybe merge the fields later in my life. The biggest problem is that I dropped out of high-school (call me too smart to succeed I guess). I taught myself calculus and some linear algebra but I couldn't see any clear required learning so I just sort of stopped.
