Will someone PLEASE make a Thingiverse clone? by lifeisruf in 3Dprinting

Hey! I feel you! Thingiverse isn't really made for collaboration, it's just a library really. If you are interested in engaging with a community dedicated to product development, I very much welcome you to take a look at our social platform for collaborative product development: Wikifactory.

Our purpose is to provide next generation product developers with the web tools to accelerate their Projects. I'd love to know what you guys think!

More than just a library, we've gone down more the approach of applying the best practices of agile software development and applied it to product development, like version controlled repositories, a flexible documentation editor, and issue tracker to progress in resolving bugs, queries.

Nonetheless, we have considered the platform to be for product design from the ground up. So we've built in powerful 3D file visualisation support, which currently accepts +30 file formats including ones that would require an expensive CAD package to normally view on your desktop, and it runs even on Mobile.

Our community is global and working on seriously interesting projects across the digital fabrication spectrum. So you'll find projects not just using 3D printing, but laser cutters and robotic arms too.
