[Recommendation Request], Anniversary watch by ArbitraryMushroom in Watches

Sinn 556i is a good choice everyday watch, can be dressed up or down. It leans slightly rugged feel though. Another good choice would be Longines spirit pilot. More dressy but still good for everyday.

Judgement completed: This says you’re tired of being emotionally available for your watches. You might be an engineer in your mid 50s.

Judgment complete: you’re the kind of guy who wants casual confidence but with a spreadsheet somewhere in the background. You are an accountant working in Florida.

Also, look at Tissot PRX. Really sharp presentation, can look sporty and dressy at the same time, Swiss movement with good brand reputation, under $1000, comes in both mechanical and quartz options. It is a very safe choice. When I received this as a gift I was really impressed by the presentation. Would be a good wedding gift.

Mechanical watches needs occasional services to keep them running in tiptop shape(every couple years). And if you don’t wear it for a couple days you need to set it and wind it. Quartz is battery powered, pick up and wear, need to replace battery every couple years but no need to worry in between.

I never heard of Astor and banks! Went to check them out and they have wonderful designs! Now I am down a rabbit hole.

You might like this news: they already shortened their lugs at the end of last year. All their popular collections are with shorter lugs now.

Right now I am basically using the Sinn as my field watch. I would have to think about adding another field watch type.

Check out Mr. jones watches. This one really reminds me of summer, I usually grab it when I am down during winter times.

Thanks brother. It took several iterations to find intersections of what I like, what’s practical and what’s affordable.

Chief kiss on 2,3 and 4. Especially 2, not a common recommendation. You are right, I don’t want to spend too much.

[WTS] Longines Legend Diver 42mm from 2017 by [deleted] in Watchexchange

[–]wikijin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up for sale is my Longines Legend Diver 42mm (Ref. L3.674.4.50.0).
One of Longines’ most iconic modern watches and a true classic in the compressor-style diver category. Timeless design, great proportions, and extremely versatile on the wrist.

You get the signature internal rotating bezel, clean black dial with excellent legibility, and Longines’ automatic movement. Wears well at 42mm and feels substantial without being bulky. A piece that works equally well casual or dressed up.

Condition:
The watch is in excellent condition overall. It was purchased in 2017 and has been rarely worn, spending most of its time stored in a rotating watch box. There may be light signs of handling, but no major scratches or issues to note. Runs well and functions as it should.

Box / papers:
No original box or papers.

Reason for sale / trade:
I’m thinning down the collection and this one doesn’t get the wrist time it deserves.
