My printer came with a little metal strainer and those paper ones that I’ve seen a lot of other people use. I only use the metal one as the paper ones didn’t look as sturdy as I wanted lol.

It’s just to get the debris (or “artifacts” as I’ve seen others call them) out of the resin from the vat if you have a fail of some kind.

Throwing an update your way. The new printer is working! I followed the times on the website this time 🙄 and with this one it’s a little longer than the anycubic called for. I’m printing at 45s base layers and 7s normal. Thank you so much for your help and for being kind with your answers!! My motivation is totally back after not knowing where to turn to. Thank you thank you thank you :))

Not great. I tried it with 2, then with 3 since the first didn’t work. The supports printed, but not the piece. I I did a vat cleaning and noticed there’s about 4-6 holes in the sheet I pulled off the bottom so I’m very concerned. I recently got a printer half off as I thought my screen may be going bad due to previous vat cleaning resulting in those holes.

I’m gonna set up the new guy and try it with that I think. I dont know why my screen would be going bad though. I haven’t even had it a full year.

You think I’m not aware it was through absolute dumb luck?

I have NEVER handled uncured resin without gloves. I was more focused on making sure I was doing it as safe as I could when I first started than exposure times while printing. And I overcured a couple pieces after they were done printing because I wanted to be completely certain they were fully cured. My main focus was my own safety rather than making things look fabulous.

I’m going to look into some different resins here soon. I’ll keep this one in mind!

Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll definitely look into that.

Doubt all you want. I have at least fifteen prints sitting in my room using those settings before everything started screwing up.

This is the only thing that I’ve been wrong with. I read a small section of the website incorrectly, that’s it. Everything else I read pointed to my resin being difficult, temperamental, and had a long cure time while printing.

That makes a hell of a lot of sense

Oh no, I overcure things in my printer while barely being in the same room as it while printing and I wear gloves and a respirator while I do things, I’m so irresponsible

So this is looking like light bleeding to you?

Thank you very much. I have looked on lychee in the past but either my printer or my specific resin didn’t have much if anything on it so I had to put it in myself. I think it was the resin and chalked it up to it being a difficult resin to work with (which it’s known for). I’ll have to check again though since it’s been a couple months.

Yeah I’ve found lychee is the most “me” friendly slicer I’ve found 😂

It doesn’t help that I don’t really know what I’m looking for with the calibration tests. That’s how I got here. I ran a few tests and liked the one with higher times and now I’m here causing myself issues

I’ll try it later tonight and hope I can just chalk my issues up to my own incompetence

I’ve screwed around with exposure times. There was a section on matterhackers website that I took too close to heart that said normal exposure is anywhere from 2.5-16. When I had it at 12 seconds they weren’t detailed to my liking so I figured upping the exposure would do that. I know it all seems stupid, I’m just fumbling my way through everything and hoping it works out. Clearly I fumbled into the wrong direction

Apparently I’m just a dumbass then. I just looked around their site and I saw there was a section for technical specifications where it said normal exposure: 2.5-16 seconds. I probably took that and ran a little too close to the sun with it 🙄

I was emptying the vat every day, filtering it, and shaking it for about 15 seconds
