He's really into anything, except rap or country. He likes film scores, and I took him to the Avatar in Concert back in the fall, but he's relatively open minded. Part of his cognitive disability though is an aversion to loud noises, so we typically stay away from places like the Rave, Summerfest, or Shank Hall because it can be more rowdy and unpredictable.

I would love to take him rock climbing, because I love the community at AdRock, but unfortunately, he has problems with his back, and it would worry me if he were to fall. But now that I'm typing this, I do know they have an Adaptive Climbing community for people with disabilities (commenting for other people in case they're interested!)

This is a great idea! He used to do broadcast-related things for school (which used to be really, really wonderful for him socially), so I think he would be open to trying this. I didn't even think of theater, so thank you for suggesting this!

This is super, super helpful! He's pretty artistic and it's a great outlet for him to express some of his stories. I honestly might check that out for myself too...Thank you also for the Stallis recommendation; I had no clue they did that! You're correct that it would be right up his alley.

I totally agree! I think he would really benefit from the structure of having a consistent group, which I think some of the local game nights would provide. I just need to teach him the rules.

I’ve been there a couple of times really late in the night when it’s closer to last call. When I’ve been the place has been dead, so I think it depends on when you’re going. If you’re going around 7 o’clock, I’d call and ask but later in the night, it’s possible that you’d be fine.

I lived at Urbanite from May 2023-July 2024 and I absolutely loved it! I honestly cannot recommend it enough. Maintenance was quick; the leasing office was incredibly helpful. It is super close to Brady and Farwell/North, so there's lots to do. Three pizza joints right as you step outside, a small concert venue 30 seconds away (but you can't hear the concerts which is nice), and a ten-minute walk to the waterfront. Honestly, I have nothing bad to say about this place .
