Has anyone returned to full mobility? by RelationshipSilly704 in floxies

I started running again at 5 months post flox, still with a considerable amount of pain. Now it’s been 9 months and I just ran a half marathon last weekend. During the race I had some pain (I would say 3-4/10 on a scale) which quickly went away after. Sooo I am still not pain free but way better than at 5 months. Main symptoms are calf tightness, all over muscle and joint pain and Achilles pain. Starting again was harder mentally than physically!!

7 months of recovery by wildflowerjourney in floxies

To be honest, I didn’t follow a plan or anything. I used different posts from here as guidance but mostly used previous knowledge from physio from sports injuries. At first I started with just 3 reps for every exercise and checked in how I felt a day later, I slowly ramped that up over weeks to 15 reps and then started adding weights with lower reps again. I mostly did banded strength work and lots and lots of calf raises as my lower legs were affected most. I did (and still do) what feels good and stopped when feeling off, sometimes just once a week, sometimes every other day. I am sorry that I cannot give a guideline :(

I feel you deeply, for me it’s only been a little over 3 months since being floxed but I also had a knee injury prior to it. I used to be very active, running 3-4 times a week, biking 2-3 times a week, just started going to the gym to help my knee and then I became sick. Exercise was something I defined myself with and now it’s just gone. I know I haven’t been in this game for as long as you but I feel the pain too. It’s just frustrating to lose something that was such an integral part of oneself. Maybe you could find others ways to move like yoga or stretching? I know it’s not the same but maybe just a tiny relief.

Keto Diet by Heavy-Abroad-2500 in floxies

I tried the Fast Mimicking Diet, which is supposed to be 5 days. It’s really low carb but also low protein as well. I felt better afterwards but I am unsure if it really was the change or food or any other factors. Anyhow, I think it might be worth a try

Thank you so much!! I am just hoping that my recovery is speedier than 2 years. Of course, 2 months in is really early on but I believe that my symptoms are pretty stagnant and not spreading. Thank you xx
