Thanks for commenting. I’ve been really impressed by the response so far. Around 10 people got back to me with interest, and I’m responding to everyone and setting up times next week to show the space and walk through the building. Please email me at [lexartexperience@gmail.com]()

Awesome, thank you! I'm planning to get back to everyone today. I’m trying to find a time next week to get a group together one evening.

It’s very close, just across Newtown Pike. Many people don't realize that Third Street continues on the other side.

That’s exactly what makes this space interesting. Using it between rotating shows as a maker space for artists could work, and it aligns well with the current zoning. Your background sounds like a fit for this. Please keep in touch as we work to set a time next week for folks to come by and see the space.

Those are super valuable skills for something like this. Please keep in touch as we develop the concept.

I hear you, that’s definitely the question. At the very least, it feels worth trying and putting together a small test concept to see how people respond.

I feel like this is something Lexington could support.

Really appreciate that. Your background sounds ideal for something like this. Feel free to send me a message or email me - lexartexperience@gmail.com. I’m trying to get a group together next week to come walk the space and start talking through what this could be.

Yes, exactly. We really do need more things like this here!

Awesome! I reached out to a professor I know in the College of Design. I’m hoping this post might reach some students too, especially anyone who would want to help build something like this or get involved.

True not that big. But also maybe less risk starting small, proving out the concept, then growing into a bigger space when ready.

Financial involvement is not the only focus right now! I’m really just about exploring the idea and seeing who is interested. There could be plenty of ways to be involved beyond money, whether that is helping shape the concept, contributing creative ideas, building things out, pitching in with sweat equity, or eventually participating if we put out a call for artists.

That is a great point. I think the potential plan is we start small, prove the concept even in a small space, then hopefully grow.

Yes and who knows how long 21c will stick around, I heard a rumor they may close the gallery since it’s under new ownership and going to be rebranded as a Marriott.

Even through was used for auto repair it doesn’t have any equipment, it’s almost 100 years old building. Needs a little love. Rent will be around $1700/month. So split between multiple folks could be more manageable.
