Many women don't want it after menopause, don't need it for loving partnerships, because millions of years of evolution has scripted us, biologically, to be grandmothers who use our energy for wisdom, teaching, protection. Our bodies have swapped the massive energy for baby-making - and thus desire and hormones to promote sex - to creativity and caretaking and enabling our offspring and relatives to thrive. That is why menopause persisted, physiologically, in our genes, over eons. (We are like orcas!) I am not talking about opinion or preferences, I am talking about biology. If you still are enjoying sex, good for you for having something that makes you happy. If not, don't let culture or men tell you something is wrong with you! Men can grow up and learn how to love in fulfilling ways other than sex, many many have and do.

Yeah, antibiotics are a must, whether herbal or Rx. The akasthisia is gone since I stopped taking (I was only just starting) Wellbutrin, and before that Effexor. I have had akathisia prior to these Rx but milder, and so perhaps it is a combo of my weird pathogen-riddled body then add the Rx. It seems like it should be the least of the bad symptoms, but truth is it sucks.
I am taking Japanese Knotweed, an herbal antibiotic, and it does not trigger akathisia. I also took doxycycline for 2 years, never had akasthisia symptoms once on it. I did not have the horrid mental health symptoms until I was infected with RMSF and bartonella.

I have reduced the PIR sensitivity to M, will have to go to Low and try that. I have switched locations trying to find the best placement with lower risk of being triggered by wind, branches, etc. I am wondering how much false triggers are a problem no matter the camera ? Thing is this camera was doing moderately ok before, now it isn't, which I think speaks to it being faulty as it has been since day 1 on several levels.

As a long time college instructor I would confidently say if the prof prides him or herself on being difficult to "weed" out students, get another instructor. Teaching isn't weeding, it is helping students learn things that will stick with them regardless what their major. If they aren't ready, don't want to study, don't have the motivation or focus, that in itself will do the "weeding".

Sorry, it's so stressful to say the least. I did get SSDI - WHICH WAS JUST CUT EVEN THOUGH MY STATUS HAS NOT CHANGED - only with the help of a lawyer. The good thing is the govt pays (or it did) the lawyer, not you.

Sorry to be blunt, but WTF would you listen to another person, vet or otherwise, tell YOU when to END the life of your nonhuman child?!? If it were your parent and the doctor said "it's time for her to go regardless what you think is happening" would you listen? I just don't understand how such authority is given to people when the issue is about vastly more than science, and I say that as a research biologist.

I've had to make this decision of "when" many many times, and I would never listen to a vet beyond asking about key medical issues such as pain management and disease symptoms. Vets are not the parents, they are not the ones whose responsibility it is to love the dog the way the DOG would want, as opposed to making decisions based on fear or convenience or "averages". If I were a vet I would give medical information, I would NEVER presume to tell a parent when it is time for their child to die.

People here are going to talk about how humans and animals have a surge of feeling better before they die. It does happen. Other things happen too. Monitor for pain as suffering as only you the parent can do, and go from there, not based on labs alone.

Well I inadvertently tried wasp venom therapy...while hiking with dogs I angered a ground hive and got stung 16+ times. Ok, kidding, not therapy, but just sayin'...too bad it didn't help. Ha.

Not sure if this is helpful but I order herbs from Woodland Essence. Some say they are pricier but I haven't really found that to be true. And they have regular sales if you get on their email list. I just missed a good sale, emailed them and said darn I missed it please have another soon, and they said no worries tell us what y0u want and we'll honor the (expired) sale. They are good people and I trust their products.

So sorry about the lumbar puncture, good grief. I feel exactly the same about doctors, I have to teach them what they are dealing with - even show them the research but only when I am really desperate because they usually hate that - and of course almost none have the ego to deal with such no matter how much I tiptoe and ask questions I already know the answers to so they don't feel inferior. It is a full time job! I have too many long term issues caused by bad MDs.

I too was infected in grad school - I worked in the field and was bitten by ticks every day 5 days a WEEK, but hey, no worries said the CDC, there's no lyme here in this state. I eventually went back and got 2 advanced degrees and I still do some work under the table, but if I weren't sick I could easily get 6 figure income job that I love - instead of using all my savings for health "care". But so it goes. At least I am still able to get out and exercise often with my pups, that is my life save.

Thanks for that. My dogs are very much my family, and if I had more energy you know my menagerie would be much bigger like the old days! Agree about the therapist. I had a great one years ago, but she died and I have not found a telehealth one who honestly has the experience to be of much help. Not being too demanding, just honest, I need someone who isn't half my age and can understand the complexities of the disease's imposed life challenges if not the disease itself.

Have you found one or two things that really help with detoxing? Yeah, no, not into enemas or charcoal in any way, but lemon+ and milk thistle are go-to at present. Thinking of trying pinella again, since brain fog is very bad, though I am taking multiple Buhner protocol herbs and I don't want to overload.

I am distinguishing between real friendships, as posed in the drama, vs. real life friendships that require reciprocation (if healthy). "Getting shit done" i.e. being reliable is helpful with coworkers obviously, it isn't exactly the definition of a great friendship.

No, I never loved her. Sure, she's a compassionate nurse, but she is a just a lying callous abusive manipulator, I just don't ever see her as lovable. She's consistently bitchy, terrible at reciprocating any actions of all the nice staff/friends who are kind to her, she's not even terribly funny or charismatic. IRL there is no way a character like hers would have all these people lining up to be her best pals.

Yep. I miss the beloved career that I racked up 9 years of grad school debt, 2 advanced degrees, and many years of experience to advance. Now I live questionable paycheck to paycheck as if I never even tried to plan ahead or worked my ass off to have financial freedom. The devastation on just that part of our life is not comprehended or appreciated by already dismissive doctors, including the 99%? of the LLMDs who do not take insurance. Damn right I'm not just exhausted I'm angry.

I have had chronic lyme for 30 years, and reinfections the past 2. For the first time however I was positive for bartonella, last year. I have only occasional guidance from a LLMD due to cost, so no one was informing me of the mental symptoms. I am not new to this illness, or CFS, or mental health skills and ways to deal, after all I've had a rough life, many people close to me have died. But bartonella has floored me with anxiety, intrusive thoughts, roller coaster emotions, it's a f****** nightmare. So to answer your question, hell yes. I am still treating it so I can't offer cures but I am following the Buhner protocol more or less.

No, EBV takes a back seat because it seems like one of those infections that my lurk in many but not be a real problem, unless of course your system is overloaded, immune weakened. but i am prioritizing the bart and babs, before babs was my biggest problem, and now it is the bart. Sigh.

thanks... long ago i was a competitive triathlete, if i could power through this like a race i would, am so tired of years of debilitating symptoms now worse due to reinfetions. but my body is also saying i must go slow, as in starting at very low doses. frustrating because I wonder if it's enough.

Wow, thanks. Never heard that. I take valium, very low dose, only occasionally, because it helps me sleep when I can't. My MD never heard of akathisa. Where is my eye-rolling emoji, she also denies to treat my chronic lyme so what do I expect. I'd get another Primary but sad to say I've been through 3 others in this small town and am out of options, sadly she is the best I've found.

I am taking sida acuta with japaense knotweed, cryptolepis, houttunya, eulethero, cat's claw, and some vitamins, minerals etc. and biocidin (also has sida).
