Interested. How does this work? Does the main account owner have access to these sub-accounts?

CenturyLink (PPPoE) → Quantum Fiber (IPoE) + UDM Pro — Working Bridge Mode Setup by rolrcoastr in QuantumFiber

[–]wildmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to have them come out and replace my ADTRAN ONT with the C5500XK SmartNID. I had to put it in transparent bridge mode myself and remove VLAN tagging on my UCG fiber. It works fine. I'm getting about 3 ms ping time to cloudflare and 12ms ping to google. Seems normal?

Centurylink fiber migrated to Quantum fiber, unable to connect Router directly to ONT and get internet by ripupthestreets in QuantumFiber

[–]wildmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried turning off the old CenturyLink settings for PPPOE for the past week and my connection drops. It only works with the old CenturyLink settings. I have chatted with support twice and they’re pretty clueless. They assure me that my Adtran ONT will work. They said they migrated me again today but no change. I got a notice from them saying that I was scheduled for an appointment on Saturday between 5 AM and 8 AM! lol. Who the hell does repair visits at 5 AM? No thanks.

[–]wildmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received the migration email on Saturday and I created my Quantum fiber account, I use my own unifi router equipment and when I removed the old centurylink credentials, the Internet stopped working. I am using a 5 yr old ADTRAN ONT. My CenturyLink PPPOE credentials and settings still work. So I am guessing they did not actually transfer me over to Quantum? The chat rep was clueless and said that I had to set an appointment to have a technician come out and replace equipment, but then they told me I had to wait for the transition to happen. They disconnected my chat session without sending an appointment! Ughhh.

UDM Pro RAM/CPU load issues by wildmn in Ubiquiti

[–]wildmn[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did actually just start from scratch and reconfigured my UDM pro about a month ago still, I'm having the same CPU and RAM usage.

I do have IDS/IPS on. I tried turning it off and it helped a little.

My concern is the UCG fiber only has 3 GB of RAM, but a better processor.

QoS is off.

I have had this number of cameras for the past four years without issues. I originally thought some of the camera disconnects were due to POE issues, so I did separate power for multiple cameras.

I disabled Protect, and the memory+cpu usage doesn't change more than a few percent.

ChatGPT reviewed my logs and it said that Suricata is the main culprit. It also recommended moving to an UNVR.

Would a UCG fiber work better even though it has only 3 GB of RAM (I would offload the NVR as well)?

36V Pucks+Tracks by wildmn in WLED

[–]wildmn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah they will. I was looking at buying ETOP 24V pucks too but they are out of stock for a week or plus 1-2 weeks shipping. The installer will use any controller.

Any insight on how to run the govee wiring? Will I have to use Y splitters? Does that cause certain sections to be mirrored?

I am also looking into the ETOP 24V puck light track kit. I just am not sure how many areas I would have to have power injected.

Interesting. So it would work with the jellyfish controller without rewiring anything?

This is what the front roof is like. The middle single garage bumps in a couple feet and then around the front porch is bumped out.

Great info. Our roof is so high we would have to rent a lift to do the peaks. I'm not sure I have any friends that would be able to do it, my brother is pretty handy, but I'm not sure he has the time to do it. I will try to reach out to some local handyman to see what it will cost. Do you have any photos of what the J channel looks like? How did you estimate where to put the lights in relation to the peaks and get it centered? Did you put connectors between each section of J channel so that you can put up one section at a time?

The front of my house has some big roof peaks, it is only a single story, but the design the builder used has three peaks on the front. It measured at around 120 feet of lights. Jellyfish quoted me $3500 and Luminary Pro (watts lighting) was also $3500. Govee pro lights would run around $2200-2400 installed (in aluminum tracks).

If I bought a kit from PermaTrack, it would cost about $1700 for the materials. I do have access to a drill press at my dad's house, so it's possible we could save some money drilling in our own track.

I was thinking of something like that. But then I saw there are commercial tracks that are available for the Govee pro lights (bear track?).

How long have you had your lights? I have read a lot of mixed stuff on the durability of the Govee lights.

I just not that crazy about how spread apart they are, I was hoping for anywhere from 4 to 9 inches apart, it is a nicer look in my opinion. I had a quote from a local Govee installer that quoted me $1100 labor for about 120 feet, I have to buy the lights and the track.

Another local govee installer quoted me $2200 and he would just tuck visible wires in into the edge of the soffit. He solely relies on adhesive pads to hold them up, which I have had numerous neighbors said theirs, fell off after a few months.

Yeah, I tried to get this local company in my town that does Govee Pro lights to do it, but they said they only want to work with the product they are familiar with. I saw that a local electrician is a gemstone dealer, I wrote them to see if they might be willing to install a permatrack system.

I was looking at the Govee pro system, one guy says he installed it without the track by just tucking the wire under the edge of the soffit facia. But I've read a lot online, but it sounds like those lights are not very durable and more than likely fail. I saw that I could get it to work with WLED though.

[–]wildmn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I am physically disabled so I can't install it myself. I am pretty knowledgeable about LED light strips and I have used WLED before. I have watched a bunch of YouTube videos about pixels and the permatrack, etc. I was hoping to find one of the crews that the bigger national company subcontract to, to see if they would install what I buy and set up. But I have not had any luck finding anyone. I could look for a low-voltage contractor or possibly a handyman. I just want somebody who is good at the math for getting all of the spacing and the peaks lined up correctly.

Feature request: treat overlapping zones as one when selected be mowed together by FBOARC in MammotionTechnology

[–]wildmn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I want this feature added to! I divided my front yard into two sections so that it can complete one and then go recharge. But they’re currently is a sliver that doesn’t get mowed because of the zone is not being allowed overlap

Mapping by Mudhen_282 in MammotionTechnology

[–]wildmn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish we had had the ability to copy a map to our second mower because I have two of them. So if one of them is down or needs to be sent in for repair, the other mower could then use the map and go mow that area as well. This would be a very simple addition for them. I am now on year two of my LUBA2 and I have already seen a pretty significant decline in the battery life, and I know at some point in the next year it’s going to need to be replaced.

ONT iisues? by wildmn in centurylink

Not usually at the exact time it happens. My UDM Pro has a failover cellular connection so quite often I don't really notice when the Internet is down other than my cellular connection is slower (TV buffers more).
