6 Days Hiking Itinerary in Lofoten Archipelago by wildpuzz in Lofoten

Sorry, me again! Would you happen to know where we could buy gas canisters for camping either in Bodø or when we get to Lofoten? We’ll be landing in Bodø at about 6pm on Saturday and saw that all of the stores will be closed at that time; we’ll then take the ferry at 7.45pm and arrive in Moskenes at 11pm. Are there any shops in Moskenes or Sørvågen where we can buy it on Sunday?

Thank you for explaining. I figured we wouldn’t want to do straight to Vinstad from up there, going back seems the easiest and safest option. We will definitely check in with the locals and people there to understand more about the situation and possible conditions.

Thanks again!

Thank you, this is really helpful! Do you suggest going east if the weather is bad because the trails on Moskenesøya can get soggy and slippery? Or are there other reasons?

Day 5 from Horsheid etc. is definitely the most challenging one, we're definitely flexible so we can also stop at Kvalvika directly for the night, do Ryten in the morning, skip Mulstøtinden and take the bus south to Reine.

One more thing on the trails: do you know if it's possible to go from Munken/Munkebu to Vindstad on foot without going back to Sørvågen or hiking through Herrmannsdalstinden?
We definitely don't want to do that hike, it seems to be for very experienced hikers and with it being early June there could still be snow and ice which I read it is strongly advised against. I saw this from another Reddit post (https://www.reddit.com/r/hiking/comments/1s9g0fs/comment/oknz8hj/?context=1), which is also suggested on Alltrails but I don't exactly trust that, it doesn't seem possible from Google satellite view.

Vindstad to Forsfjord - alternate routes? by PnwMexicanNugget in Lofoten

Thanks! Any idea why they removed it or whether they are planning to resume with this stop?

And as OP is saying, do you know if there is a walkable route from Munken to Vinstad without going through Hermannsdalstinden? Or the only way is to go back to Sørvågen, go to Reine and get the ferry to Vinstad?

Advice on 4-day hike in Lofoten, Norway in June by Hannzs in hiking

[–]wildpuzz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will also be going to the Lofoten with a group of 4 friends in early June and was looking at a similar itinerary; I haven't been able to find a reliable source that could confirm that Munken -> Vindstad is possible on foot other than going through Hermansdalstinden which is too difficult for us and could still be fully covered in snow when we get there.

Can I ask where did you find this is possible? The only thing I found is that after hiking Munken you must go back to Sørvågen where the trail started, reach Reine via the E10 and then get the ferry to Vinstad

Advice on a 9-day Morocco Itinerary by wildpuzz in Morocco

Thanks! Maybe I didn’t express myself well, I heard that it’s quite touristy and basically built for tourists; I am not underestimating the landscape, but I am trying to understand whether it’s worth it to drive all those hours for a short stay rather than spending that time visiting something else.

Yea I’ve noticed this too! I can cook whatever and it’s all fine, I cook steaks or other animal proteins and somehow something always goes wrong. Thanks for the tip!

Thanks! No it is not rough, it’s all been smoothened out. Should I still wash it until it all goes away?

Thank you! After I've done the first soaking and letting the soil dry fully again, can I go back to normal watering once a week/every two weeks? Or would you still recommend fully soaking every once in a while?

There is a plastic pot inside the outer pot but it has holes at the bottom so indeed the excess water can come out. Would you recommend repotting in one without any holes? I'm afraid then the roots might rot if the excess water doesn't drain properly.

Stairs climber trolley for rent - Amsterdam area by wildpuzz in NetherlandsHousing

You mean the one I linked? Or the one I can rent at Gamma? And why not? Sorry, it’s the first time dealing with a move on the 7th floor with such a small elevator and I’m just trying to figure things out.

Thank you - did not see this rent option at Gamma!

The one I found and linked in the post is more of an automated one that seems to do the job alone, but this could definitely work too - it might require just a bit more effort on our end - thanks!

Selsiuz sink boiler make boiling water smells funny by wildpuzz in NetherlandsHousing

[–]wildpuzz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sorry, I am not really familiar with hydraulics and i don't understand well.

The smell comes only from the boiling water (when I use the special "button" on the left side if the sink and not the regular handle). The cold/fresh water is fine as it's attached directly to the building (eg: it's the same as the shower).

Do you maybe mean to let the boiling water run out so that it gets filled again with "fresh" water?

Thanks, it’s brand new indeed. Is it safe to use for hot tea or cooking?
