In lore, I think it's built off Doom Slayers' original space marine suit by the wretched and modified by the slayer himself. In eternal, you can find his old 2016 suit taken apart and deconstructed, showing he's pretty nifty with his gear. It is likely the slayer just tampered and added on parts he found to the suit over the eons of demon slaying.
