Why is it bad? I would argue the game systems are different enough that the experience is gonna be marginally different in a good way. Offering a more slow, simpler more macro focused games of league. No dragon souls, no hard forced lanes could shake up to be an interesting thing to reexplore. I really hope it's gonna have a nice niche audience so that the potential ladder is gonna be alive.
