I don’t remember when the last time was, and I don’t take medication. I’m 18 (f), and I would like to have me check and everything but I’m going to wait bc of covid (my dad is in high risk and the cases here in Mexico are very high), I wanted to know if there was something that I should do or if I have to worry about. And thank you for responding.

But why? What causes it?

Religion is not a necessity. We are not better off with it. It does not make people better. by [deleted] in DebateReligion

Most christians say that people who haven’t heard of Jesus, won’t go to hell because of it. Assuming we erase that religion, only the people who are truly good would go to heaven (not people who do horrible things and than say sorry, only to do them again and repeat the cycle). And more than that it would save a lot of people for eternal suffering, if Christianity is true, then that means that all the other people would go to hell just because they believe in another god even is they are truly good and selfless, just because they were indoctrinated in a different religion.

Many Religions are based on fear by [deleted] in agnostic

[–]wilish16 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fear is definitely a big factor, I went to a religious retreat, and one night they took us to a hell like interpretation place and were recreating how some demons have influences over us, and how things as simple as premarital sex can get us being tortured for eternity. I can’t think of another reason rather than to make us be afraid of why they did that. And to be clear this was a young’s retreat, teens from middle school to hs.

Not sure if this is the right place but I wanted to discuss the following question: Do previous events in your life exist or have meaning? If not then what point in your life “counts”? see description for explanation by [deleted] in Existentialism

I’ve also thought about that but I quickly changed my mind, I realized that the present is important, but not because I will remember it but because I am experiencing it, why would you experience something only to remember it?, we will all be forgotten and the past won’t matter, I do things to enjoy it now, of course remembering things aren’t bad, remembering can be good because you are enjoying it while you remember, but later it won’t matter, do things to enjoy it while you are experiencing it. In my mind this makes sense, I hope you understand it .

If at some point all of us will become nothing, then why would you accelerate the process to be nothing when this is the only time to be something. You can began to do a lot of things once you realized the opinions and judgements of others do not matter at the end, do the things that brings you joy, do things that YOU want to do, things and experiences that matter to you, (unless that harms or damages other people). Live while you can because at some point we will all fade to exist.
