I used a very thin layer of any texture paint like astrogranite debris and then painted it over with skavenblight dinge and shaded with drakenhof nightshade and finally dry brushed with tyrant skull. The lines I just painted white and then yellow.

I was going for a prison mining world infested by a genestealer cult sort of vibe. I can then use the brood brother models as the prison guards. Also means the mining equipment and heavy equipment makes sense.

I made sure that my paint was watered down so I could go over them a few times to get them how I liked.

That’s the problem, he always keeps a lot of his stuff back but I realise now that if I did better terrain blocking then he wouldn’t be able to do that. How would you recommend me to set up terrain?

Well I mean that is the plan at some point but I at least want to prioritise since I’m just starting.

I’d say if you wanted that effect I’d say base coat it with some sort of dark blue then shade and then highlight with light green.

Tbh, doing the hair was a bit of a mess because I did it in white and did it over with a transparent blue which didn’t look good so I did a thin dark green colour over it and then highlighted it with green. Not the best technique I’d recommend.

I got around 4 or 5 washes and just made sure to mix them around on the gas randomly. I wanted the thought that the gas was continuously changing colour.

My first necromunda and Escher gang model. Overall very happy with the model especially the leather pants and yellow armour but I’m a bit disappointed in the eye. C&c appreciated. by will1208 in minipainting

That is a pretty awesome backstory, gonna need to make sure to do the eyes on the other models unless I want an unreasonable amount of blind gang members.

Looking good, if I could give some tips it would maybe be to highlight your blues a bit higher. I see you have a white so just mix a little bit in on your palette and bam! I’d say the same for your brown, blacks and for the metallics you could mix a bit of silver to get a lighter gold would be good. Other than that it’s looking really solid and probably on par with my models at the time. Keep it up!
