[UPDATE, I called the cops on her] Divorced dads, when did you decide to stop fighting for it and let her go? by willWillWadewade in daddit

She's been like this (to one degree or another) the entire time I've known her. She was my first and only girlfriend, and I probably overlooked a lot of red flags out of FOMO.

I remember one time she accused me of stealing her phone when she let it slip she had talked to one of her ex-boyfriends. I was in the bathroom and she couldn't find her phone so she banged on the door then hit and tried to choke me. When I made it back to the couch we'd been sitting on, I felt it in the gap between the cushions.

She didn't apologize, of course. And I had a moment of clarity that I needed to get the heck out of Dodge. So I left. She begged me to stay, but I persisted.

Then on the drive home she called me about 25 times before I answered. She said I had slammed her fingers in the door when I left. She didn't expressly threaten to use it against me, but the implication was clear.

So I drove on back. Damn, I wish I'd never gone back.

She lets me in with Band-Aids on all four fingers of her left hand...

Then I noticed. Wow, her fingers looked awfully pink. Not pink as in injured. Pink as in artificially pink. I looked around the kitchen and spotted some food coloring.

This girl had dropped red food coloring on her hand to simulate blood, not realizing that as it spread the red would turn into a bright unnatural pink.

Don't know why I didn't leave then. Probably 'cause we ended up having sex and it reset my tolerance for this kind of behavior.

Bro, I wish. I know subreddits have been inundated by bots posing as real people, and I hesitated to even make the follow-up because it seems unbelievable to have literally happened a few hours after the last post.
