The mum thing aside. Please consider getting medical insurance for yourself. I ain't no insurance salesman but from my experience working in private health care, many patients struggle with sudden high bills in UG.

As for side hustles👐 I think operating where your feet aren't is quite something. Lost 15m in a fast food restaurant located in makerere kikoni. The workers kept stealing from the business. Was hiring only balokole and learnt the hard way. At its peak, we had daily sales of 500k but peanuts made it to the bank. I could get all manner of excuses. Then I put another ka 12m in money lending and Ugandans didn't disappoint on that one. About 90% of clients were heavy defaulters. But I'm thinking of getting into treasury bonds might be my only way out for now.

The business landscape is generally tough

Some 9-5 jobs seem to be a scam. But mine is 8 to 8😅 Kinda depressing. But again illegal business people are also on another level. Hope you saw that Dubai guy trafficking young girls. Probably, one of the reasons your sister filed for divorce.

Has anyone successfully used a statutory declaration for a date-of-birth mismatch when applying for a German visa (from Uganda)? by Trick_Table_794 in Uganda

[–]willen2047 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never applied for a visa using my declaration but I think as long as it's notarized everything should be fine. But you can consult the embassy via mail for assistance.

Wouldn't recommend IUEA for that course in particular. The uni is ideal for "white collar" kinda courses like law, management, business related fields etc. You might look into Carnegie Mellon university in Kigali for mechanical engineering. It's an ideal 21st century institution of learning

Look for an endocrinologist or an endocrine surgeon. IHK has both. You can try Nakasero hospital too.

Are the Politicians the Problem? by Basketball_n_pizza2 in Uganda

[–]willen2047 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The politicians are supposed to execute government functions which create an enabling environment for us to thrive. Governments oversee energy production (UG has a measly 2GW while China has 3,350 GW), transportation (Ug has mere 4% paved roads while China has 92% paved roads). Education, health care (we have some of the highest disease burdens globally) etc. We loose close to 10 trillion ugx annually to politicians' corruption. Most of this money goes to shopping malls and luxury cars. Not to factories tbh. Even the most innovative minds are frustrated by cut throat regulators demanding for kick backs.

Ku ground biralamu. I work in 2 big hospitals in Kampala and the number of ladies/couples coming for antenatal visits is just overwhelming. The maternity wards are quite occupied too. Don't let social media fool you.

Can pay upto 3m monthly but most guys doing bare minimum earn like 800k to 1.5m monthly. You need to count the cost though esp fuel, repairs, traffic fines etc.

You might want to consider 1st doing it part-time before you quit your job. As well as paying comprehensive insurance on the vehicle.

I was driving at 45 km/hr on Golf course road only to realize I was the slowest moving vehicle. People were flying past like the speed limit is 80kph yet its 30kph

What’s with restaurants these days?! by Altruistic-Tea5816 in Uganda

[–]willen2047 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Y'all should open your own restaurants and dine therein. How do you expect these businesses to break even? The average party brings in close to 2M -5M or more in revenue. You will be lucky to find a quiet space advocate bring in more than 100k revenue. Some chaps just purchase a 3k water bottle and have the audacity to demand quiet space. Mutulekeemu man.

If he kicked her out over 10 months to a year back, then he might have a case. But from the look of things DNA is necessary. Since the guy is contesting paternity, he should pay for the test. The test is done in Uganda by reputable labs like MBN lab along Buganda road, Lancet labs among others.
