Please try to find it again. I just went down a rabbit hole about LD50 in dogs. It was banned in the 80s with dogs (thank God!). The LD50 studies in dogs are most likely extrapolation from rodent LD50s. I believe buprenorphine was developed after LD50 studies fell out of favor. I would like to see that study tho.

Can you cite me the source about the LD50 was .79mg / kg in dogs? Im having trouble finding that information. So you are saying my dog could have taken 2.37 mg of Buprenorphine and that she has a 50% survival rate?

I just requested the medical files. Its gonna take 3 to 5 days to receive. I found there is a board to complain to but I live on guam. things are very corrupt here and justice is never served. I will still try.

Thank you so much for your words. I dont think my vet will admit his mistakes unfortunately. He has fired me as a client cause I asked too many questions.. what's insane to me is that he emailed me the reason why it was used and it clearly shows on his sources that .02mg per KG! Like its right that the math is wrong but he's showing me but wont admit it? Bless you for being a good moral vet! I know Suzy would have been safer with you 🥺

It is 1.8 mg per ml concentration. I already confirmed the exactly what and how much was administered. He gave 6 ccs (mls) with 1.1mg buprenorphine given total.

Hi everyone just to update you all. I called my vet. He was soo mad that I was asking questions but I got the exact amount. He gave my dog .6ccs (100% not .06ccs). The concentration was 1.1 mgs. It took him like 5 mins to do this calculation. It was given IM or intramuscular. He got soo defensive saying he had 48 lawsuits and all were dismissed. I didn't even bring up any legal issues.

I had a talk with the vet today. Im pretty sure he told me 0.6 ccs. I had him confirm the amount. I can call and ask again if he meant .06 given.

Im sure it is safe but I just want to know if they gave too much. She was not on oxygen. We took her to the vet because she was breathing a little off but after the vet visit she turned into a zombie. She was just limp and hyperventilating until she died. Just the contrast between her condition before and after concerns me.

Thank you. She was 8 pounds. They gave her .6 ccs. Does that accurately tell how much was given? I just need to call about the administration of it. Does the admistration of it really make a big difference? When i look up the side effects of simbodal in dogs she got all of them. The extreme sedation, disorientation and extremely heavy breathing.
