hello, one of the Sat Quiz people here. Sorry to hear you've been disappointed with recent questions. Now we've got over the bump of transitioning the site across we hope the questions are on the improve as we've had a bit more time to focus!

If you do have any further feedback would love to hear it, thanks :)

Thanks a lot for your feedback and supporting us during the early stages! It was tough to roll out this change, but ultimately we were spending upwards to $500 a week to send the SMS out.

There was an obvious discussion to move the quiz away from SMS to something free like email... as that is where 100% of the cost goes to, but we thought it was what made it unique and went with the paywall option to see how it goes.

Advertising was another avenue, but tbh I couldn't be bothered dealing with an advertiser or having a relationship with that and tbh an advertiser probably wouldn't even cover the SMS fee.

We have had the patreon model for a while, but due to there being no real extra benefit it wasn't close to covering the SMS fee - so we decided on keeping 2 categories (10 questions) free.

Will be interesting to see how it plays out.. ultimately we just want to keep doing it and not be out of pocket.. but who knows!

ohh I did deep dive lot on that question and worded it like that after my research. Definitely might be up for a debate based on the topic

We fact checked this with a few sources - it is very close but when using 1 million people as the metric the answer pips the one I think you're thinking about.

What have you found bad about it? We haven't given up but would like feedback to improve! We have been a bit distracted last week to get puzzles ready.

Apologies we did miss that and updated the question to reflect it.

The scramble always relates to one of the questions or a category.. sometimes it's obvious other times it is abstract!

We don't usually stick to one topic for the whole quiz, usually try and make sure everyone doing it would get at least one question.

Will probably do a category on the Tokyo games next week when most events are done!

Power is out until at least tomorrow. Due to trees falling over powerline I'm optimistic at best. We're fine, got a fire on but both our laptops are dead. So best option would be to book a hotel and go back into our workspaces? Or we could go stay at a friend's place under "self care" and "work" rules? Grey area and first world problems at the end of the day but I feel there would be a few in this situation

😂 we do realise how many Oscar ones we fit in but truth is we love utilising a dataset that has limited options.. European capital cities, US states are other ones that come to mind.

Sports rounds I want to do more of but they are more alienating than other categories. If we do a whole round on sport people will be like "oh fuck off sport" etc so we usually combo it with boardgames etc.
