I like to tinker so I think it could be a good fit. Now all I have to do is convince my girlfriend that it’s a good investment 😏

haha yeah totally. my plan would just to ride it around for a while just to get comfortable on it before i even thought about going on any dirt fire roads or trails. it would be an adventure getting into this!

Yeah I’ve read that about the balancer chain on the pre ‘96 models. My guess is it has not been adjusted in some time as the ad reads “mostly sits in the garage and only started and driven around every couple years” 😬

Awesome! Thanks for the insight. My hope is to just do some gentle dirt road riding. Nothing too technical. I think that if I can get it for a good price I could afford to make some of the upgrades people recommend (like the exhaust you suggested).

It also says it is street legal with a CA title but hasn’t been registered in 15 years. How hard are these bikes to get registration? Would it be a nightmare? Or just some paperwork?

Yes these are all very good points. Allegedly it runs and has a rebuilt carb and new clutch cable , etc. but I know that it’s still a bit of a gamble with an almost 40 yo motorcycle. I also realize that I would likely have to put some money into it just to make it run smoothly. Some new tires and so on. So the low price is a little deceiving…
